“I didn't need a reservation. I just went their and they had a room, and I didn't have to pay by credit card either. I paid cash. The staff was very nice and helpful and the shuttle service was great. The shuttle took me to Harper Hospital and then to Union Station for dinner, and back to the Inn. The room I was in, was on the third floor. The room was clean and neat. The only thing that the room was to hot for my liking but the staff took care of that also. The breakfast they have is great if you go away hungry it is your own fault. It took me a little bit to find the place but I didn't and still don't know nothing about Detroit. I only stayed their one night while someone in my family was at Harper Hospital but if I ever need to go back to Detroit for anything, would stay their. Also, would tell all my family and friends to stay their. The room I had, I got on a special.”

“The hotel is quaint and the staff extremely friendly. The rooms are nicely appointed and very clean. The neighborhood right outside the hotel is okay but a few blocks away looked a little sketchy. Overall the hotel was wonderful and I highly recommend it.”

“I have managed 3 to 5 star resorts and hotels for 20 years, The Inn on Ferry Street is a GREAT Property that is run well by staff and managers who show that they care for their Inn and their Guests! Very Good value: No charge for secure and well lit parking, Very Nice hot breakfast included, and complimentary van transportation in and around Downtown area. Very convenient, quiet, and safe. Room was very well equipped and appointed with high quality linens. A selection of Jazz, Blues, and Classical CD's was provided for the Sony CD alarm clock. Highly recommend The Inn on Ferry Street, and will plan on staying here on future visits to Detroit.”

“The staff was great, except housekeeping. I think they got an attitude when I complained about the pillows stinking so bad. It seems they retaliated by cranking the heat to 90 degrees, not giving us fresh glasses (just turned the old ones over) and not returning the pillows. We went out and bought new toothbrushes because we were afraid of what they may have done with ours. The room was not at all what we expected. It had no atmosphere or character like the ones in the brochure.”

“The hotel was a good value for the money. The staff was very helpful and friendly. I loved the decor and atmosphere of the rooms and the lobbies. I will stay there again. The hotel could be a romantic getaway as well.”

“A beautifully restored home - and a cut above a good bed & breakfast. The staff was courteous and super-friendly and their shuttle service went beyond the call of duty on New Year's Eve. A delightful place and experience.”

“The Inn on Ferry Street is a totally unique and pleasant experience. It's gorgeous restoration and furnishings take you back to the hey day of Detroit, and give hope for Detroits ongoing recovery. We have stayed there three times, and will return again and again. We especially appreciate the free shuttle service to all Downtown Detroit venues (we stay there when we attend the opera; we are driven there safely and efficiently by the Inn's competent and graciously helpful driver) and the safe parking for our own vehicle. We also enjoy the sumptuous breakfast in the Arts and Crafts restored dining room, and the availability of the small bar in the sitting room. Try this Inn and see some of the beauties of Detroit. You will be delightfully surprised!”

“Decent service. Loved the old restored feel. Breakfast was great. Shuttle around town was awesome. Disliked the wedding rehearsal dinner that wasn't broken down that night and was still there when we checked out the next day. We weren't even part of the event.”

“We felt cradled in history and yet surrounded by convenience and modern amenities. The room was charming and homey without being gimmicky, our entire building was elegantly done, a room with great high ceilings, bright windows and lovely furnishings and fireplace. The rare convenience of a shuttle service all times of the day was great as were the extremely friendly staff. Breakfast was a sheer delight complete with fresh flowers on each table. The landscaping was lovely as well. Be sure to read the history in the back hall of the main house. Fascinating.”

“The inn was a wonderful place to stay. The rooms were spotless, the beds were comfortable, and you really felt safe staying there. Any problems were promptly attended to by the staff. The expanded continental breakfast was the great, especially the waffles! We will definitely be staying there again.”

“This was our second stay at the this hotel and we were again completely satisfied with our stay. All of the staff were friendly and helpful and our rooms were clean and beautiful. The shuttle (which Rob drives) is a great way to get around for free within Detroit and the morning breakfast is delicious.”

“The inn on ferry street is a refined, beautiful bed and breakfast inn. It is ideal for the business traveler or couples out to experience all that Detroit offers. Its location offers easy access to downtown museums and the ballpark. It is a short drive to the ford museum and Greenfield village. Suffice to say, it is where we will stay on our next trip to Detroit!”

“This was my second stay at the inn on ferry street, but definitely not my last! I love this little bib, because of the home-y feel they give me while I travel to Detroit on business. Free wireless internet and free breakfast are two of the things I look for in a hotel/bib. The inn on ferry street excels far beyond any hotel in the Detroit area, and is close to everything! I can't wait to return!”

“It is in the Detroit cultural center near, the Detroit institute of arts, science museum, African museum, historical museum, and Wayne state university. A short bus ride to tiger stadium and ford field, combo hall and Joe Louis arena, hart plaza and downtown businesses. Great location for reasonable price.”

“The shuttle service is a winner and everyone who worked there was warm and friendly, even when my buddy tried to put blueberries in the waffle maker. The business center is also very useful if you are traveling without a PC - and there's no charge to use it to look up places to visit or eat in Detroit or for checking email. Overall, the rooms exceeded all expectations and service was tremendously accommodating - if you are in Detroit and want to experience something special - try the inn on ferry street.”
