• Close to Lowes race track.
• Had to pay $15 a night to park at hotel.

“The hotel was excellent except we had to pay to park at the hotel itself, I thought that this would be free to hotel guest.”

• The beds were amazing!
• Mold in the bathroom.

“The Crown Plaza Charlotte overall was a good experience. I was really blown back by the comfort of the beds. Was just like being at home! We also had a nice view of Downtown Charlotte and were in walking distance to many attractions. I was disappointed that our room was over a banquet hall and we had to listen to music until 1am. Thank god they provide ear plugs as part of the sleep experience! Also, there was mold on the ceiling in the bathroom, kind of gross.”

• Location.
• The dirtiest carpeting of any hotel - need replacement urgent.

“Well located, furniture and carpeting totally worn out. Does not match star level. Its no more than a glorified 2.5 star hotel. Now its only a 2 star. Dirty rooms, dirty rugs that must will not want to step on.”

• Could not find a place to plug in the iron.

“The Crowne Plaza is conveniently located in Downtown Charlotte, is clean and functional, and very pricey. It is priced as a 4 star hotel, but just doesn't qualify. They offered a fair lunch buffet at a decent (less than $10) price, but charge $15/day for parking. The wireless internet connection was fast enough, but the hard-wired connection was for turtles. I couldn't find a place to plug in the iron and use the ironing board.”

• Liked the location. Very quiet even though we were downtown.
• Parking is too high. $15.00 to be exact.

“Enjoyed the hotel but parking is expensive. After I paid for parking, the desk staff tried to make me pay for it again because they never recorded it as paid.”

• Cozy lounge, comfortable bed, great location.
• Unskilled, unkempt, and slightly rude desk clerk morning of check-out.

“This was my second stay at Crowne Plaza, and I enjoyed it even more this time. My room had a gorgeous view, the bed was super comfortable, and the lounge staff where I had a late supper was friendly and accommodating. I wasn't too turned on by the staff at check-out the next morning, but all in all, I would most definitely stay here again, and recommend it to others.”

• Sleep package and alarm clock with sound machine built in were very nice touches!
• $15 per night parking is the only downside, still worth it.

“This was the second time I stayed at the Crowne Plaza, Charlotte and just as the first time, the service was excellent, the room comfortable and clean. The location is utterly convenient since it's in the heart of uptown Charlotte! I wish I could stay at a hotel like this every time I travel!”

• The sleep CD was a source of great amusement.
• Parking charge ($15) was a bit steep for its location.

“Clean, comfortable room. Big emphasis on sleep (sleep CD, mask, ear plugs, even lavender spray), which was strange because even though our room was right be the elevators it was quiet as could be.”

• Very good staff.
• High noise level, small rooms/bathrooms, parking $15!

“I've stayed in nicer Red Roof Inns. 3 star should be like Marriot Courtyard Suites at least. Wouldn't stay at this particular Crown again. And $15 a night parking? Added $60 to my bill.”

• The bed is heavenly!
• Decor, no microwave in the rooms nor refrigerator which was extremely inconvenient.

“Overall, we our expectations were not met. The rooms were spacious but terribly decorated and stocked with minimal appliances. The bathroom had an uric smell, perhaps coming from the pipes. The hotel is older, built in the 70's and it shows.”

• The staff was informative & friendly; shuttle service, perfect.
• A larger room would have been nice; a longer stay might have made that more important.

“The location is convenient to Bobcat arena and the rest of the "uptown" area. The staff was friendly and helpful with the entire process as well as providing shuttle service to the arena area. I would certainly stay here again.”

• The Crowne Plaza and Holiday Inn both were in a great location.
• Both gave us smoking rooms, and the Holiday Inn said they would change it but didn't

“The Holiday Inn Airport/Charlotte was dirty, smelled bad, and had a staff member who was unwilling to help us. This is all we have to give to you. I was traveling with 2 other nurses who were attending the conference with me.”
