“We are from the area but chose this hotel for a romantic overnight stay. They offered free champagne upon check-in, which was a nice surprise. The hotel is recently renovated and modern but still holds that historic charm of the original building. The room was small but had nice granite counter tops, a comfortable bed, nice bedding, and funky decor.”

“Upon arriving, the supervisor was not friendly & didn't seem to know what she was doing. We felt like we were an intrusion to her. The rooms/bathrooms were very small. Had to request our room be cleaned with fresh towels after 2 days of no maid service. We never found the hotel restaurant and was not informed the valet parking was not included. Stunned when we received our bill at check out. Had we been told valet parking was more fees, we would have self-parked. Would not stay or recommend this hotel to anyone.”

“Beautifully restored hotel. Hip and swank and lovely. Would like to stay there again when the other guests are not so intent on partying. Don't think we were given a fair glimpse into the whole experience.”

“Excellent location & staff, food could use a less institutional flavor to survive even tho corporate could probably care less. Housekeeping was more than adequate but due to the age and condition of the facility u could use more help on the front end to handle all the calls regarding shortcomings.”

“Great location, loved the decor, the staff made you feel welcome we were in walking distance to the KC Power & Light district - made the night-life available to us.”

“Nice, old hotel that has been remodeled located in downtown KC. As with other remodeled hotels the rooms are small but more than adequate. The heat to the room was poor and the fan was loud but the stay was pleasant and would do again.”

“I really liked this hotel, but the issue with cleanliness was a big barrier for me. I walked into the room, and immediately fell in love with the hip decor and brightly painted walls; plus the staff was awesome! Once I was getting ready for bed, however, I felt very uncomfortable. Parts of the room looked dirty and a couple of the white towels had dark stains on them. When I pulled back the sheets, to my bed, there were tortilla chips all in the bed sheets. Very upsetting! The TV didn't work in the room either. If they could get their maids to be more conscientious and if the rooms were better managed, I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone, until then, I would not.”

“I had no idea I would have to pay $13.00 per night for parking! The second night, the parking was full; They sent me in the wind, cold, snow and ice to a parking lot 3 blocks away; I walked back to the hotel and when I walked back to leave, I found out that I had inadvertently parked in the wrong parking garage and had to pay $6.00 to get out! I will never stay there again!”

“If you like bright modern rooms and lobby, this is for you. If you want something more relaxed and quiet, you won't like this hotel. Very loud and hip atmosphere with lots of younger people. This would be towards the bottom of our list for downtown lodging.”

“The staff was very helpful and friendly. The location was good (walking distance to Sprint Center, our trip destination). It is an older hotel - small elevators, very small entrance to the room, limited space in the room with the 2 beds. Small bathroom. Very clean!” Hotel Representatives:
