• The price wasn't bad but the value was terrible.
• The heater did not work, and the bath room hot water was cool not hot and needed repair.

“Got in there too late to go somewhere else and was just trying to get some rest for the next day and no time to hassle with the heat and while I was in the reception area the gentleman in the room next door had no heat either and it was unusually cold for Wilmington and I can't recommend this hotel.”

• The phone rang every hour, staff was aware about this before we checked in.

“When checking in there was a homeless person sitting at the front of the hotel eating an apple. We had to unplug the phone in the room, it kept ringing every hour, there would only be static at the other end. We called the front desk there was nothing they could do; they offered to move us to another room at 0200! Come to find out this had been a problem for the past week and nothing was done about it. There must have been a flood in the area; the carpet was coming up near the bathroom. The hot water would only come out at a trickle. We just figured we got what we paid for and will not do this again, next time we will go with a name brand hotel, their web site or call to make reservations.”

• It was a short drive to Wrights vile Beach.
• It was dirty and smelly with loud music at night.

“I don't recommend this hotel. I was displeased. They first put us in a room that had a mold or mildew problem. It was disgusting. We had to move all of our stuff out to another room, which was better, but still not that great. We had one king bed for myself, my husband and two kids. They wouldn't change that for us. It was very small. Hardly any place to put the port-a-crib where my daughter ended up sleeping. They offered a continental breakfast--turned out to be donuts and water. Would not recommend this place.”

• It had a pool, and it was available. Free bananas.
• Bathroom did not close at all, cockroach. Shabby!

“Shabby. The tile in the bathroom was broken, paint peeling, the bathroom door did not even begin to close in the door frame. One of the pillows was scrunched to half the size of a real pillow, from age and abuse. Towels were thin and sand paperish. But it was the huge roach that really did it for me. The crunch it made when I squashed it made me want to run. We did not use the pool because I could not bear to use the shower in our room. I was really disappointed, even though I knew it was a one star motel.”
