“I stayed here on business. Hotel was dirty. Public bathrooms were filthy, hallways and elevators filthy. Both treadmills in exercise room were broken. Was referred to local YMCA. Other equipment was ancient. Ordered room service - it never came, and it was too late to re-order. What happened here, I don't know. Catered group dinner was cafeteria food awful.”

“The overall hotel was great. The problem I had was the coffee pot still had coffee in it from before we got there and also the microwave was dirty like it was not cleaned for a long time. It looked like it has been building up the dirt inside for a while.”

• We arrived a little late, and the restaurant was open and was still serving dinner and half price appetizers. They were fantastic, as was the service.
• We called and asked for pillows and they never showed up.

“We thought it was a great place to stay and dine. We also liked the location.”

• Elevators were old looking inside.

“When I got to the hotel they didn't have my room for me. This is the first time that's happened. After a lot of hassle they did get me a room and paid the price difference and I appreciate that.”

• I appreciated the helpfulness of the staff and finding a warm, clean comfortable room after driving 600 miles.
• The handicapped parking spaces in the parking lot were the only ones that had ice and snow left in them.

“My wife and daughter commented on how comfortable the beds were and even wished they had checked to see what brand the mattress was.”

• Nice room for the price.
• "Riverfront" was not even on the river!

“This hotel is an outstanding value for anyone traveling. You will be surprised by the level of amenities. However, you'll also be shocked to find the Riverfront hotel not actually on the river and the area is not that great in terms of walking distance things to do and see. For a traveler though, you can't do any better. I recommend this hotel whole heartedly.”

• Rooms were very clean. Front desk friendly.
• Poor service in restaurant for breakfast. Employees sat in the far corner. Didn't watch the front.

“This hotel is in the downtown, rough section of town. Streets are under construction hard to navigate. Trains close to hotel travel through every hour and are very noisy. The restaurant, hooligans had very poor service for breakfast. The wireless internet was very slow. The business room downstairs only had one chair in it.”

• The location was a bit far for some things, but not a problem due to the quality of the rooms.

• Restaurant, staff & maintenance friendly.
• Toilet running, bad plumbing, tub/shower brought up clutter, train noise.

“1. Bad train noise in sleeping morning hours.2. Toilet ran all day for 4 days straight.3. Plumbing issues.4. Tub/shower area had black clutter.5. Staff acknowledged these problems, fixed short term, offered no sound explanation.6. Room service doesn't always answer phone (rang & rang).”

• The front desk staff when we checked in was excellent.
• No hot water for shower.

“The hotel was not bad, and could have been excellent if there had been hot water for morning showers. However, even beyond that, my biggest frustration was not having no hot water, but instead the lack of communication from the staff when I inquired about the hot water. The staff acted as though it was "not a big deal". This made me wonder if this problem is common at this hotel.”

• Clean accommodations, extremely helpful and courteous staff, great pool and excellent restaurant. My grandchildren, ages 3 and 5, had a blast.
• On demand movies were a bit princely.

“My daughter and grandchild stayed here several years ago when it was under different management. It was shoddy and the restaurant was mediocre. It eventually lost its Holiday Inn affiliation. Under new ownership, the building is sparkling, a much better restaurant was installed and the staff is exceptional in all areas. They've regained the Holiday Inn affiliation and I consider the Riverfront hotel one of the best Holiday Inns I've stayed in.”
