• Everyone was friendly and our room was great.
• Nothing.

• Included breakfast, neatness of hotel, close to attractions.
• Hard beds.

“We were impressed by the neatness and presentation of the hotel. The rooms were very clean, too. Our only complaint was that the beds were too hard and uncomfortable for our liking.”

“This is a very noisy hotel with an impolite and aggressive staff. A smoking room with a different bed arrangement that we requested. It was noisy and overcrowded, I would never stay in a Holiday Inn again.”

• Checked in late and room was not available. Was given a room with a king bed instead of 2 doubles. Floor under AC unit was wet and moldy smelling.

“Other than the location, I was very disappointed in this hotel. Service was poor, room was dirty and the staff was not very knowledgeable. Bathroom towels had hairs in them, evidence of mold in shower/tub area.”

• Breakfast was good, but crowded.
• Bed was not real comfortable.

“The hotel was not bad. The problem we had was we were given 2 double beds. We tried to get it changed and had a lot of problems. We had to talk to the hotel manager to get things fixed. We were told to ask for her when we arrived. When we arrived and asked for her she came out and checked us in but was not a very nice person. She was not very customer friendly. I did like the hotel but staff could be a little friendlier.”

• The bed was very comfortable and restful, much more than my own bed. I felt rested after each stay.
• I did not like the location of the hotel. Not easy to get to from the Downtown activities.

“I am a big fan of the Holiday Inn Express' and enjoyed the stay overall. I did not like the fact that after the first night at the hotel our towels were not replenished and the location of the hotel; which is away from all the activities of the Downtown area. The hotel was clean, the staff was friendly but the location of the hotel is its only downfall.”

• Close to downtown mackinaw city.
• The sheets were stained and the room was in the worst location of the hotel.

“We were placed in a room that was about the canopy to the main entrance. Every other room in the hotel either has a balcony or a better view. Our view was of canopy. The bed sheets were stained and the room had a musty smell.”

• The Smell.

“It was alright. The room was somewhat clean, but it smelled funny. Dirty sheets were on the bed but housekeeping changed them.”

• Overall, I will not stay there again.
• Customer service was below standard.

“The motel was very slow; few people stayed in this 3 story place (we arrived around 10:30pm). They would only give us smoking rooms even though other rooms were available. Staff seemed to hate us from the beginning because we had a cheaper rate from the internet. I asked for a non-smoking room for one of our families because of severe asthma & allergies for 2 of their family members. They had already refused the family's request to change. I have not yet contacted the manager, but certainly plan to do so.”

• Our room was not cleaned prior to the last night of our stay.

“We had an enjoyable stay. The staff was polite and accommodating. The facilities were comfortable. We left late on the day of our final night stay at approximately 12:45 p.m. Upon our return at approximately 10:30 p.m. The room was in the same condition as when we had left.”

• Housekeeping staff pleasant & continental breakfast handled well.
• Had a problem using the toilet in the bathroom as they are low and I have physical problems.

“Wish they could have handled my request for a non smoking room! I explained to them I have breathing problems, but it made no difference. A couple of the workers were hard to understand and when I called to see if they could help me out with a raised toilet seat she did not know what I was talking about so said she would call back and never did. Believe, their literature stated the hotel would provide handicap equipment if needed.”

• Great location, friendly staff.
• The beds wasn't great, but they changed our room the next day when I told them I couldn't sleep that 1st night.

“I was a little disappointed in the beds, because they never did give us a king size bed that I had requested, but they were quick in handling the problem, when I did inform them and gave us a different room with better beds in it. The staff was very helpful and the rooms were clean. We stayed on July 4th and the next 2 nights and they were totally booked. Their continental breakfast was excellent. I usually don't eat breakfast at the motels we stay at, but we did there and it was always good.”
