“We love this resort! The resort is surrounded by a sea of giant saguaro cactus. The property is stunning. We loved that the restaurant Primo had happy hour each evening. The kids loved the lazy river pool. Last year I had spa treatments there and it was incredible. This place is wonderful.”

“The facilities are nice but not well planned out. The restaurants can't handle the number of guests and it is a long way to drive to town to eat. We ended up scrounging chairs and tables in order to eat in the lounge. Very inconvenient. The rooms are nice but nothing to write home about. The lazy river and slide were fun, especially for my six year old grandson. The holiday fireworks were awesome--some of the best I've seen anywhere.”

“We had a room on the 6th floor and the scenery is just beautiful. The pillow and bed are plush although the carpet needs more padding underneath. The resort look like it was carved out of the mountain and desert. The streets are very dark since there are no streetlights and you can see the stars clearly in the sky. We enjoyed the 2 pools, Jacuzzi and lazy river. The lazy river is not long but there's a small slide for kids. There's no life guards on duty and you're supposed to swim with a buddy. Not a problem since I won't let my kids swim alone anyway. Very nice and we will definitely stay here again.”

“It was a good experience with the exception of a faulty room door and a lot of bugs in the room. There are no screens on the windows and I think the cleaning people must open the sliding door so there were lots of moths, random bugs, etc. in the room and in the bed. There are also a lot of flies in the eating areas but the resort is in a largely undeveloped area, so you have to expect a little bit of nature. Nice robes in the room and the beds were heavenly.”

“I live in Tucson and the resort is in Tucson. Although my son and I took a mini-vacation at the resort, it felt like we were out of town. I needed a change of scenery and this place did the trick. We will go back some time. The hotel, staff, restaurants etc. were all wonderful. Very comfortable beds and pillows!”

“Overall the resort is okay, it was fine for our family. We stayed mainly in the pool area. I don't think the resort is amazing and we won't go back. There was no lasting impression. The resort is not really family friendly although my 8 year old and 10 month old had a good time. Hope this helps.”

“The hotel was very comfortable. The staff very pleasant and friendly. The setting is incredible. The pool was very nice. Self parking was too far to be charged $10 per night. We first got a room with a balcony, but the height of the wall of that balcony is so high that if you are seated on the balcony you are staring at a wall. Unless you get a suite, the balconies are not worth an up charge. Overall, the hotel is very beautiful and a great place to stay in Tucson.”

“Very nice hotel but lots of interstate construction, hard to get to. Parking garage is very far. The restaurants are expensive don't eat at the hotel. Coffee was horrible, even starbucks was bad. Had a nice balcony with a good view of mountains and the city. The pool was awesome, hardly anyone there so we had the pool area to ourselves most of the time. Nice slide good for younger kids water was only 3' deep.”

“It's a bit bland. Yes it's pretty, but it looks like every other convention hotel. The rooms were nicely appointed until we found thousands of bugs in the tub. Later we found the same bugs on one of the beds and on the wall. We were promptly moved to a room right above the outdoor fire pit area where every parties at night and got no sleep. The beds were very uncomfortable and the night was not a restful one. The pools are alright, but again, very bland. Not a lot of trees or even saguaro for that matter, and no shade except if you get lucky enough to land an umbrella. And the pools are separated from the bar and restrooms were far, which is a good indication of where the kids are probably going all in all I wouldn't return.”

“The room was very clean. However, it is just a standard hotel room with upgraded furniture and linens. They want you to stay on the property and it can be expensive if you start eating all your meals there. We had a sandwich and salad for lunch that cost $50.”

“Beautiful desert resort with plenty of amenities, pool, restaurants, spa, etc. They've finally solved parking problems by allowing guest parking in a garage adjacent to the resort rather than having people bus in from a remote parking lot. Great hiking nearby. The rooms are well appointed and comfortable. We didn't golf though the course looked inviting.”

“This is absolutely the most beautiful hotel I've ever stayed at. The staff was actually helpful and went out of their way to make me feel like a VIP. The atmosphere was outstanding, the food was superb, the service was competent and the rooms (and the view) were truly relaxing.”

“Wonderful location, good atmosphere, self parking was a relatively long way from the rooms. I feel that there should not be an additional charge for internet, not for self parking. To nickel and dime these items leaves one with a bad taste in their mouth.”

“J.W. Marriot is a very nice resort, great for relaxing by the pool or in your room or spa. Plenty of activities during the day if you want to hike horse back ride. However the concern I have is that you are so far away from any activities in the city, I would like to see perhaps a lounge with pool table or dance floor some sort of activity at night, but if your looking to sit in front of a fire with a great view of the lights of Tucson below you and just relax this is perfect. Also ask for a room that's not on the very back of the hotel on the first floor, otherwise you will walk onto your "balcony" and read a sign that says warning snake and wild life habitat.”
