• Management.

“I am a frequent traveler. I have stayed at this hotel several times mainly due to the location. Evidently there has been a ownership/management change. And I don't feel that the upper management is as sensitive to the needs of the guests. However the staff overall was very good. The quality of the hotel shows when there is a problem. And how the hotel does or not satisfy the guest.”

• Terrific staff, well-designed room, many free amenities.
• Could use more lighting at curb - a little hard to see at night.

“This has become one of my favorite hotels in the area. While it's not a flashy facility, it is well-designed for the business traveler with a wide desk which is easily moved to allow TV viewing, or spreading out your paperwork over the desktop and a bed. The amenities are a great value: free parking, free internet, and a surprisingly generous breakfast buffet. Plus, the rooms face into interior hallways rather than the street or parking lot.”

• Comfortable beds. Had a recliner!
• Older, worn look of all facilities.

“This is a comfortable, clean place to stay. Amenities are 1990's vintage and the entire facility could use a face lift but everything was operable. Enjoyed having a recliner in the room to watch TV instead of having to sit on the bed.”

• The staff was very helpful. The breakfast buffet was terrific. The hot tub was wonderful.
• Needed new carpeting in the room.

“The hotel was located in a very charming old California town with easy highway access. The location has a feel for being in the old west but with all modern amenities.”

• Pool/Jacuzzi too chlorinated; ruined our swimsuits.

“This place has a lot of potential. The staff is very good and the breakfast was excellent. However, the exercise facilities are absolutely unacceptable. The machines were outdated and cheap of quality. They were difficult to use and not fully functional. I was quite disappointed in them. Also, the website advertised a complimentary membership at 24 hr fitness, which was no longer applicable, so I felt misled. My biggest issue was that all of our swimsuits were ruined by the chlorine content in the Jacuzzi/pool, and my wife actually had a slight skin rash due to it. We did like the temperature of both, however. These issues notwithstanding, we really liked the place due to staff and the good breakfast. I would like to see an upgrade in the quality and age of the facilities that matched the lobby. I want to thank the front desk clerk. He was awesome in every respect, and a true asset to your hotel. You should reward this young man!”

• The continental breakfast, location in the hills is wonderful, day staff is very helpful.
• Our first and second night we had no air conditioning and when we called our second night they couldn't do anything but move us to another room.

“The area is wonderful as it is a very nice little town in the hills above the busy universal city. The continental breakfast was a treat and they daily changed the menu to make it even better. The hotel stays locked up at night, it is well lit, and relatively quite. Our two queen beds were not capable of sleeping a family of five well, the sheets and carpet are dated, caulking seemed to be the fix all in our room, and the air conditioning went out and I was told I could come get a fan or we can move you to the freeway side sir. The following day I was able to get the air fixed, but no one offered any kind of understanding or value for us being uncomfortable. Overall, if you make sure everything works right when you get there. It is a nice place to stay for business, small families, or couples for a very fair price.”

• Bed desk clerks lobby breakfast (and servers).
• The repair man who wanted us out of our room before checkout time.

• Cleanliness, check out time of noon is great.
• I do not like standing at the desk and hearing there is a sweet available when I have asked for one myself and told there isn't one.

• Very accommodating staff; better than usual free breakfast.
• Wireless and Ethernet was not working properly; staff was not trained to solve problem.

“Clean comfortable rooms. Good complimentary breakfast including freshly made eggs, sausage, waffles, plus the usual cereal, toast, etc. Pretty far off the beaten path. Not really close to anything--so you should have a reason to be in the Woodland Hills area.”

“The rooms were large and clean, each room had Coffee, Microwave, and Refrigerators Breakfast was included with the room. The staff was friendly and experienced.”
