“I am becoming a frequent guest at this hotel. I am here to business work on site. It is great having access to a variety of amenities to vary my day. Whirlpool, exercise room, breakfast, room fridge, and Java River with WiFi across the street, and Chinese in the mini-mall. Many other restaurants you can walk to or drive to. Convenience! I can stay on site, work and relax!”

“This hotel has so many worth-while features. Clean, comfy rooms. Inviting lobby. Helpful, friendly staff. It was almost always quiet and relaxing. Across the street from Casey's, strip mall, and located at the edge of a small town downtown just waiting to be explored. Despite this being a small town in Iowa, you can easily find culture here, authentic Mexican, Chinese restaurants, French speaking residents. I love Chicago for its change of pace from small town Iowa, but I enjoy my visits to this area which also offers its unique draw to this river town.”

“This hotel exceeded my expectations. It was only a 2-star so I was not expecting much but it was clean and it had a nice pool and Jacuzzi.”

“For the most part, this hotel was fine. Nice breakfast in the morning, elevator, nice location.
I do not however, feel that I should ever be given a smelly, smoking room room unless I request it.. This made us feel dirty and uncomfortable.”

“Convenient to Nauvoo, Illinois historic area. Rooms were better than some hotels that I have stayed in. Rooms were as I had expected. Staff was friendly and helpful. I would stay here again.”

“Located in Downtown Keokuk. The staff was friendly and helpful recommending local dining. The hotel did not show up on my GPS unit but the staff guided me in on the phone.”

“Okay, I will try to be objective as possible here; I usually stay in Hyatt's. So, the king rooms are pretty large. Sofa in king rooms a plus. Bed was pretty uncomfortable. Nothing really upgraded as far as fixtures, amenities, etc. Staff pretty friendly. This is probably the best hotel in the area, but do not expect anything above your typical 2-star. No dining nearby or on site.”

“Overall I wouldn't recommend this hotel, certainly not without trying the other hotels in town first like Fairfield Inn and Comfort Inn and Suites. The first room we checked in to smell atrocious. Think man who hadn't showered in many days. It was so overwhelming we had to change rooms. The hotel pool, even though indoor, was freezing. I could cope with that if I was lap swimming, but they have a rope across the middle of the pool which discourages doing so. The Jacuzzi buttons were broken so we had to ask the front desk for assistance in getting it started. And all rooms were quite noisy as it is located directly on the busiest road in town. The wireless internet was not working so we had to use the computer in the lobby, which is right at the front desk. (No chairs to sit on, I suppose they don't want you there too long.) The continental breakfast was acceptable with hot items, but the scrambled eggs seemed like something that astronauts would get out of a foil pouch and rehydrate. This seemed to be one of the poorer Holiday Inn Expresses and I wouldn't stay here again unless the other hotels in town were booked solid.”

“Well run, older building in downtown Keokuk, across street from declining mall, but near plenty of restaurants. Rooms are large and clean. Free internet. Small workout room with all equipment working. Competing well with newer hotels in town. Will probably use again.”

“The location was convenient although it was fairly noisy as it is right on the main street. They did not accommodate us in nonsmoking rooms which is a problem for us and the staff was not helpful in trying to solve the problem. The pool hours are a little short.”

“Have been staying at this location for 16 weeks. Overall, the stay was very nice. Knowledgeable staff, friendly. Breakfast is sufficient and good. Rooms were always clean. Reservations and check in was easy and quick. Would recommend to others. Noise on the main street can be loud. City needs to get its act together and stop the motorcycle racing!”
