“Convenient, friendly, nice amenities, but extra charge for double beds - not at all clear up front in the bidding process. Have stayed here several times though and will recommend it.”

“Great place to stay - 3 blocks from DuPont Circle. For a hotel built in 1906, the rooms and common spaces are very well maintained. Many modern conveniences hidden and that maintains the historic look.”

“This hotel is great for all travelers. Though there is no pool, we still had a wonderful time even with small children. For only $20 more per night we upgraded to a Junior Suite. The hotel is clean and a great historic hotel. The rooms were extremely clean and the mini fridge was great. Elevators were fast and room service was delicious.”

“I visited the Churchill recently with my children. This hotel is not family friendly. It was really overpriced. They are trying to fool people into thinking it is upscale because it is historic. The rooms are small and when I asked for a room with two double beds they said it would be an extra twenty dollars a night for that. Also, they only have basic cable which did not cut it after walking DC for eight hours with the kids. The good part was having a refrigerator in the room and the hotel was close to a convenience store where we could buy some basics. Dupont Circle is a fun and safe place to stay, so the location is great. I would just opt for a different hotel. I have stayed at the Hilton across the street with a much better experience. Overall, I would not recommend this hotel.”

“The Churchill is four blocks to the metro station and easy access to all the sites. Expect a lot of walking in DC no matter where you stay.”

“It was quite comfortable but a long four blocks away from the Metro, and uphill at that.”

“This hotel was okay. It wasn't business traveler friendly. The quality of the recent renovation could have been better (many
coats of this paint.)”

“This hotel is on Dupont circle and convenient to the Metro. This allowed my family to easily move about the city while being able to walk to very good restaurants. Very clean and well appointed. The staff was very courteous and really knew about Washington D.C. Our experience was well worth.”

“The bathroom is extremely small, the shower head was dangling out of the wall. You could not adjust the water pressure because I thought we would break. Water pressure was horrible. It was a very warm day outside, the Thermostat did not seem to work. It had three options - warm, moderate, cold. We set it to cold and the room was warm all night. I tried to iron my shirt and could not find any open plug points. Had to move a side table to access the lamp's plug point. I would not suggest this hotel to anyone.”

“Tucked in Embassy Row, the Churchill offers the convenience of the Metro and the bustling nightlife of DuPont Circle. While valet parking is available, street parking is also readily found in the residential streets nearby.”

“This is the second time I have stayed at the Churchill Hotel. The rooms have all been recently renovated, are spacious, well appointed, and generally comfortable. For a business traveler, I would not recommend the Premiere King Room. The Junior Suite (previous stay) was more than ample with a small but private study where I could work while my wife relaxed. The location is extremely convenient to central Washington, embassy row, and the Rock Creek area.”

“The staff was genuinely nice and helpful. The room was beautiful and comfortable. I believe the dessert delivered from room service caused us food poisoning and I believe the valet broke our steering wheel. But this is my opinion and can not be proved.”

“This hotel is very old but has character galore. The bathroom was dated but the huge and very comfortable room made you forget about any shortcomings. Luckily, we did not have a car as the expensive parking ($30 per night) would have put a damper on our stay. We loved it and will return!”
