Cleanliness:[9] • Staff:[8] • Location:[10]

  • Convertible couch/bed and full kitchen adjacent to main room with fresh coffee beans!
  • Asked for help at front desk to lock the safe when I arrived and no one ever came.

“Overall a favorite hotel in the area, great location, comfortable room, fabulous restaurant!”

Cleanliness:[9] • Staff:[7] • Location:[10]

  • Spacious room, coffee beans in kitchen, comfortable bed.
  • Trouble at check in.

“Check in was not pleasant. I confirmed a smoking room twice (the last time the day before my arrival). This was promised to me. Upon check in was told all the smoking rooms were blocked out and the hotel was becoming nonsmoking as of that day. I should have been notified ahead of time about this. However, they opened a smoking room for me (and a few other guests) and were given my promised room after I insisted the manager be called. Other than that, a very pleasant stay.”

Cleanliness:[10] • Staff:[10] • Location:[10]

  • Quiet, pleasant residential area, close to the Metro and Georgetown, nice rooms.
  • Nothing.

“We thoroughly enjoyed staying at this hotel. The hotel was in a quiet very pleasant historic neighborhood, yet it was very convenient to the Metro and downtown Georgetown. The staff was always pleasant and helpful. We did not eat in the hotel restaurant, however the chef there, does get high ratings.”

  • Location.
  • Once the room was not made up very early in the day.

“The staff was very helpful and nice, had to replace the hair dryer and did so promptly. It is in a convenient location to dining, shopping, metro, and entertainment. Billing was incorrect. Because computer was down at check out, was unable to review charges before departure. Am waiting on a correction from the River Inn--just requested it today. Will definitely recommend this hotel to others.”

  • Got a free upgrade, executive suite was fantastic, restaurant was very good.
  • Building is old and some details could be improved, ants in the restaurant.

  • Street noise - garbage collection in early a.m., uncomfortable pillows.

“Well situated near foggy bottom metro, Kennedy center and Georgetown.”

Cleanliness:[10] • Staff:[10] • Location:[10]

  • Close to metro, Georgetown, restaurants and shopping.
  • TV reception was not good.

“We have stayed at the river inn before and like the foggy bottom location. A metro station is nearby and Georgetown is a short walk away. The river inn suites are spacious and allow for a relaxing stay. Each suite has a kitchenette, so guests can make tea/coffee and enjoy the complimentary Washington post in the morning--or relax with a glass of wine or beer in the evening before walking to a restaurant. (A trader Joe¿s is nearby.).”

  • The hotel staff was friendly and it was nice to have a kitchen facility.
  • We were on the 8th floor and the water pressure wasn't great.

“The hotel was on a quaint street where we could park and avoid garage costs if we could find a parking spot. We were able to do that on two nights which created a cost savings for us and the hotel staff are the ones that informed us of the option. The staff was friendly and willing to assist with directions. They also provided us with complimentary continental breakfast tickets which we were not expecting so it was a pleasant surprise. The hotel is within easy walking distance of the metro, Georgetown and other sites so the location is also appealing. Overall, our stay was very good.”

  • This was a great location, excellent value, spacious, and clean. I have already recommended this hotel to others.
  • The staff upon check-in were not friendly. However, the next day different staff were on duty and very helpful. No wireless in the room.

“This hotel was a real find. Found it on tripadvisor.com. The hotel is on a beautiful tree-lined street next to George Washington University. It is located close to the metro and a short walk to Georgetown shops and restaurants. All rooms are suites and spacious. 2 nice perks--coffee beans and chocolate on our pillow.”
