  • Fantastic, modern room in great location

“I got a great deal on this 4-star hotel in prime location in downtown DC (Dupont Circle). When I checked in, I was upgraded to a very deluxe room, which made the stay far exceed my expectations. I would love to stay there again (as long as I booked through priceline).”

  • Clean, contemporary design.
  • The room needed minor repair in the bathroom (i.e. wallpaper peeling off the bottom of the bathroom walls and the bathroom door had major scratches).

“All in all I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in DC on a short trip that would like a clean, convenient location and contemporary design.”

  • Location, pool, white bedding, appeared to be very clean
  • very small room with king bed too small for a family with children, told that we got small room because booked on priceline other rooms larger

“Clean room with white sheets. L'Occitaine toiletries. Small lobby. Website says pool is heated but it is not.We had previously stayed in this same hotel booked on priceline and had a large room with king bed and chair. This time recption told us the room was very small and the port a crib would probably not fit in the room. When we asked to be switched to a larger room or room with 2 double, they said we'd have to pay$20 per night and that's what you get because you booked cheap on priceline($102).”

  • Outstanding decor, warm, friendly, free wine & snacks.
  • It was perfect.

“A really upscale hotel with lots or art and decoration. Very friendly and helpful staff. The wine and snacks offering at 5 were such a great bonus while sitting around the fireplace. Everyone seemed stress free. It was a calming atmosphere.”

  • Clean, modern, robes, umbrella.
  • Tech-no music everywhere.

“All upscale good wine bar, clean, large renovated rooms and bathrooms, big TV (& CD / DVD player!), easy-to-set radio alarm clock, good staff, best quality shampoo and soaps, short walk to subway, lots of restaurants around, free coffee in the morning and a glass of wine in the pm, two robes and an umbrella in the closet. What's not to like?”

  • Hotel charged $20 more for 2 beds.

“Beautiful room, but the extra charge seemed unnecessary.”

  • The staff was incredibly accommodating and friendly.
  • The view out the window was of the parking lot and a building next door.

“This hotel met and exceeded all my expectations. The location was great, it was extremely clean, and the staff was amazing. It had everything you could want to make your stay in DC wonderful. It didn't hurt that there is a complimentary wine reception in the lobby every evening!”

  • Incredible hotel. Very modern and luxurious!

“When you land at a Kimpton hotel you can expect nothing but the best!”

  • Room was large and comfortable.
  • Only one bed per room. Pet-friendly hotel, with whining dogs. Rude guests awakened us several times.

“Although The Palomar Hotel was a nice facility, with large, clean rooms and nice appointments, but only has single-bed rooms. Also, the fact that it is a pet-friendly hotel, led to whining dogs in adjoining rooms. This was simply unexpected and unacceptable. Moreover, there were a number of noisy, rude guests in adjoining rooms and in the hotel corridors that awakened our sleep several times. All-in-all, a bad experience. As such, I wouldn't recommend The Palomar Hotel.

  • Nothing, really.

  • Very spacious, beautiful art decor decorations, friendly staff.

“It's a fantastic hotel. I highly recommend it. Especially spacious and simply gorgeous. Complimentary drinks during happy hour. Nice location near Dupont Circle, restaurants and clubs, metro station not too far away.”

“Very spacious room, helpful courteous staff, nice bed and linens. The bathroom was small, but it worked! Nice pool, and the overall atmosphere of hotel was pleasant. Parking/valet was very helpful and reliable.”

  • I enjoyed the comfortable bed and all the bath amenities. The plush towels were soft and very upscale, not thin and stiff like other hotel chains.
  • On check out day, as I tried to bath, pack, etc, four service people came to make up my room, when the entire stay, it was done in the afternoon.

“Your location and amenities were outstanding. It is so centrally located and walking distance to Dupont Circle that I was able to sight see without wasting precious time by utilizing the metro. The plethora of places to eat in and around the hotel, i.e. Ruth's Chris, a short walk away. The Adams Morgan area also. I loved the comfortable bed and the cozy throw.”

  • The wine and reception was very nice.
  • The fee for parking was too much, charge for upgrade to two beds was too much also.

“This hotel is very hard to drive to if you don't know your way around DC. The room was very nice, and very out of the ordinary. This is not a good hotel for teens, as they don't like to try different ethnic food that was offered in the area. Subway was the only good choice, and Fuddruckers was about 6 blocks away.”

Cleanliness:[10] • Staff:[10] • Location:[9]

  • Very swanky and sharp, yet the staff was like a country inn.
  • The shower curtain was to close to the toilet.

“I loved it and would stay again.”
