  • The breakfast buffet was awesome!

“Loved the fact that the metro was accessible from the hotel. The staff were very friendly. Great service!”

  • Great romantic atmosphere.
  • Restaurant for breakfast was very overpriced for mediocre food.

“Friendly staff. Beautiful room with a view overlooking the waterfront made the experience for my wife and I almost as outstanding as the comfort of the bed!”

  • The view.
  • No coffee maker or refrigerator.

“Over all the hotel was beautiful and clean. The rooms were spacious and the view was beautiful from our room. The beds were very comfortable and the staff was very helpful. Close to the museums and monuments.”

  • I liked the friendliness of the staff and the location.
  • I did not like the odd hours of the dining area.

“This hotel was pricey for the inauguration, but the location to the Mall area was great. The staff were very nice and friendly.”

Cleanliness:[8] • Staff:[1] • Location:[10]

  • The location of this hotel was excellent/right off the highway and Metro downstairs.
  • The staff was really awful/unfriendly, unhelpful and un professional.

“This hotel was ideal for location, right off the highway and having the Metro underneath. The rooms were nice and the beds were comfortable. The staff however was so unprofessional and their customer service skills were non existent! They really ruined our stay and were actually rude at times. The room was not serviced until I complained at 3 pm in the afternoon! I was questioned when I asked for a morning News paper/other hotels I have stayed in usually deliver one under your door in the morning. My son and I had not seen each other for a year as he lives in Africa and this was our special time together. For such a lovely hotel it is a shame that the staff was so miserable.”

Cleanliness:[8] • Staff:[9] • Location:[8]

  • Good location for tourist attractions and pleasant room and lobby.
  • Balcony door didn't close tight & bathroom rug looked raggy. Could have used more toiletries like lotion and soap.

“Overall, a great hotel for walking to tourist attractions like the Smithsonian and monuments. Also convenient Metro stop adjacent to hotel. Accommodations are pleasant and beds were quite comfortable. Staff was helpful and pleasant.”

Cleanliness:[10] • Staff:[10] • Location:[10]

  • Location. Airport to metro. Gray line bus right outside hotel.
  • Wait staff was arrogant, pool only opened till 8 P.M.

“Perfectly located for sightseeing. also, the Metro made a rental car unnecessary. Pool left a lot to be desired, with a young child who wanted to swim all night otherwise, fantastic.”

Cleanliness:[10] • Staff:[10] • Location:[10]

  • Walking distance to all museums and local attractions.
  • Parking was not included in the hotel cost.

“The hotel was upscale and staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms were nice and the beds were soft. Pillows were extremely fluffy and comfortable after a long day of sight seeing. The rooms have a balcony with a decent view of the landmarks, except for the construction. Walking distance to Smithsonian Museums and right above the Mall.”

Cleanliness:[6] • Staff:[1] • Location:[3]

  • Comfortable bed.
  • Dishonest staff. Parking $30.00. Unfriendly, extreme rude and arrogant.

“It's a waste of time to do a review. I will never even drive by!”

  • Very quiet did not know when others were around.
  • Ice makers did not work on 2 floors.

“Very nice hotel. Within walking distance of most attractions in DC area. Everyone helpful.”

Cleanliness:[10] • Staff:[10] • Location:[10]

  • I was easily checked in early. Easy access to all sites/ballpark too!
  • difficult finding pool/ice machine not always working.

“I've stayed here before and love it for the convenience of Smithsonian a short walk away, Metro in lower level, now walking distance to the new Nationals ball park. My room was clean- construction outside my window was noisy one night. I find this hotel to be friendly and safe for a woman traveling alone.”

Cleanliness:[8] • Staff:[8] • Location:[10]

  • Good location, very close to the National mall.
  • Too noisy. It might be because the building is too old.

“Very attractive location. Clean and nice room. The only bad experience is too noisy start from 9am. Seems they are doing some repair working just next door to my room. That's not right for a 3 star hotel I think.”

Cleanliness:[9] • Staff:[9] • Location:[9]

  • Metro station under hotel.
  • Difficult to find.

“The only problem was there were no restaurants near the hotel because they are mainly businesses. Beside that, the hotel was clean. People were helpful and everything was easy to get to from the location.”

Cleanliness:[9] • Staff:[8] • Location:[10]

  • Proximity to metro station.
  • Failing elevators.

“Overall this hotel was a good experience. It was clean although dated, but I don't go for the lap of luxury when I travel & this hotel fit my budget. The location was excellent & the metro stop beneath the hotel was most convenient. They seem to have continual elevator problems and this causes "traffic jams" to & from the rooms. For Smithsonian visitors this hotel is a homerun. If you drive beware the parking. It is convenient beneath the hotel but expensive.”

Cleanliness:[10] • Staff:[8] • Location:[9]

  • Great location.
  • Extra charge for internet access.

“Nice facility, well maintained, currently upgrading elevator interiors. Staff was friendly, however the dining facilities did not live up to the rest of the hotel.”

Cleanliness:[10] • Staff:[9] • Location:[10]

  • Location.
  • Room had slight smell of mildew.

“Wonderful place to stay. Weight room is best I have ever seen. Only problem was the mildew smell, which I was able to get used to in time. The management was wonderful.”

Cleanliness:[1] • Staff:[7] • Location:[5]

  • Proximity to the Museums on the Mall in Washington DC; convenient to Metro.
  • No restaurants nearly open after 6pm.

“The hotel staff were all pleasant. The facilities were adequate. Rooftop pool was nice. Proximity to Metro was really nice as the major lines run into the station located directly under the hotel . Proximity to Smithsonian and monuments is the best in the city - all within walking distance. The hotel decor is a bit dated. That didn't bother me very much. There were two issues however. One minor and one major. Minor issue - the tub drain was clogged so when taking a shower the tub filled up. The major issue was our discovery of several bedbugs as we were packing up to leave. ”

Cleanliness:[5] • Staff:[10] • Location:[10]

  • Convenient location, lobby area very attractive, on metro line.
  • Room needed updating; bathroom not very clean, mall area closed too early.

“The hotel room where we stayed was not worth the price paid. The room was not very clean and the bathroom should be gutted; with a new tub, toilet, tiles etc. Replaced. The convenience of the hotel is a positive factor, with the metro being right there. I would not recommend this hotel.”

Cleanliness:[7] • Staff:[7] • Location:[7]

  • Outstanding fitness center, great location to metro.
  • The room was "tired" looking, slightly below what I expected.

“Outstanding location to metro train. Just go down stairs and you can hop on a train to virtually anywhere. I found it difficult to find places for dinner that were in walking distance. Great location to walk to all the monuments, the capital, the mall, the holocaust museum, the Smithsonian, etc. Concierge was helpful and the staff was very friendly.”
