“This hotel was ideal for location, right off the highway and having the Metro underneath. The rooms were nice and the beds were comfortable. The staff however was so unprofessional and their customer service skills were non existent! They really ruined our stay and were actually rude at times. The room was not serviced until I complained at 3 pm in the afternoon! I was questioned when I asked for a morning News paper/other hotels I have stayed in usually deliver one under your door in the morning. My son and I had not seen each other for a year as he lives in Africa and this was our special time together. For such a lovely hotel it is a shame that the staff was so miserable.”

“Overall, a great hotel for walking to tourist attractions like the Smithsonian and monuments. Also convenient Metro stop adjacent to hotel. Accommodations are pleasant and beds were quite comfortable. Staff was helpful and pleasant.”

“Perfectly located for sightseeing. also, the Metro made a rental car unnecessary. Pool left a lot to be desired, with a young child who wanted to swim all night otherwise, fantastic.”

“The hotel was upscale and staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms were nice and the beds were soft. Pillows were extremely fluffy and comfortable after a long day of sight seeing. The rooms have a balcony with a decent view of the landmarks, except for the construction. Walking distance to Smithsonian Museums and right above the Mall.”

“I've stayed here before and love it for the convenience of Smithsonian a short walk away, Metro in lower level, now walking distance to the new Nationals ball park. My room was clean- construction outside my window was noisy one night. I find this hotel to be friendly and safe for a woman traveling alone.”

“Very attractive location. Clean and nice room. The only bad experience is too noisy start from 9am. Seems they are doing some repair working just next door to my room. That's not right for a 3 star hotel I think.”

“The only problem was there were no restaurants near the hotel because they are mainly businesses. Beside that, the hotel was clean. People were helpful and everything was easy to get to from the location.”

“Overall this hotel was a good experience. It was clean although dated, but I don't go for the lap of luxury when I travel & this hotel fit my budget. The location was excellent & the metro stop beneath the hotel was most convenient. They seem to have continual elevator problems and this causes "traffic jams" to & from the rooms. For Smithsonian visitors this hotel is a homerun. If you drive beware the parking. It is convenient beneath the hotel but expensive.”

“Nice facility, well maintained, currently upgrading elevator interiors. Staff was friendly, however the dining facilities did not live up to the rest of the hotel.”

“Wonderful place to stay. Weight room is best I have ever seen. Only problem was the mildew smell, which I was able to get used to in time. The management was wonderful.”

“The hotel staff were all pleasant. The facilities were adequate. Rooftop pool was nice. Proximity to Metro was really nice as the major lines run into the station located directly under the hotel . Proximity to Smithsonian and monuments is the best in the city - all within walking distance. The hotel decor is a bit dated. That didn't bother me very much. There were two issues however. One minor and one major. Minor issue - the tub drain was clogged so when taking a shower the tub filled up. The major issue was our discovery of several bedbugs as we were packing up to leave. ”

“The hotel room where we stayed was not worth the price paid. The room was not very clean and the bathroom should be gutted; with a new tub, toilet, tiles etc. Replaced. The convenience of the hotel is a positive factor, with the metro being right there. I would not recommend this hotel.”

“Outstanding location to metro train. Just go down stairs and you can hop on a train to virtually anywhere. I found it difficult to find places for dinner that were in walking distance. Great location to walk to all the monuments, the capital, the mall, the holocaust museum, the Smithsonian, etc. Concierge was helpful and the staff was very friendly.”

“This hotel is very convenient to the metro and Smithsonian museums. Our room had a private sitting area with love seat and coffee table as well as a private terrace. We had a beautiful view of the Potomac.”

“Super convenient for metro travel and to get to major sights in dc. Also small underground mall area for food during biz hours. Hotel is older and is going thru renovations. Parking is pricey but I can't compare vs. other area hotels. 1 elevator down and v. Slow; not ennui front desk staff; well stocked gym and comfortable pool but very inconvenient hours.”
