• The breakfast was very good.
• There was a smell in the hallways. There was mold in the bathroom. The toilet barely flushed.

“The shower curtain had a sour smell. There were dead bugs in the chair. There was mold on the ceiling of the bathroom. The flip lock on the door had the screws about to fall out.”

• Hotel staff very helpful and friendly. Restaurant food pretty good.
• Room was outdated, stained carpets and both rooms smelled like urine.

“I think this hotel needs to be rated much lower than 2.5 stars. Staff was friendly and helpful, free cocktails and breakfast was great. Rooms were nasty, outdated and smelled of pet urine. This was not just one room, but two separate rooms. I just think this hotel is way over-rated when compared to other hotels that I have stayed that had the same star rating.”

• The breakfast buffet was excellent.
• Our room would not stay cool as the air unit froze.

“I think the overall appearance of the hotel was great, but our room was extremely outdated. Stains on carpet, and the air unit would not work properly. If run too long it would freeze - not pleasant during 90 degree summer weather.”

• The hotel is very old and has a smell of previously smoked in/ old and musty!

“This is the first time we have been disappointed, but this was far below our expectations. I noticed that on this survey the hotel is listed as a level 1, but on my reservation I requested a level 2 1/2. Level 1 is definitely what this was! The hotel was very old and not the cleanest by far. I have two small children that really wanted to swim at the hotel on this vacation but after seeing the room we stayed at the hotel as little as possible! I was very surprised and disappointed to see this hotel expecting a level 2 1/2.”

• Great bar staff, loved the breakfast and free drinks!
• Carpet in room stained and dirty looking.

“All in all, we had a great time. Hotel is run down and will soon close but the staff was great, free drinks every night couldn't be beat! Free full breakfast was great, too!”

“It was fine. I would not stay there for a romantic getaway, but we were given a nice, quiet room. Check out the baby rabbits, and we were told there is sometimes a fox or two.”

• Great full cooked to order breakfast, clean room.
• Key card for door would not work unless repeated attempts up to 30 times.

“Remodeled 70's style motel, very clean, family and leisure traveler friendly, great value for the money. Wonderful breakfast, very helpful and friendly staff. Only problem was the key card was stubborn and needed repeated attempts to make work.”

• Quick and easy check-in process; good maps to lead you to your room.
• The sliding glass door out of our room was filthy and did not feel secure.

“This was a nice hotel with a small fridge and microwave in the room. The beds were comfortable and we received a free newspaper in the morning. Very friendly and helpful staff. I would stay here again.”

• Grounds and pool were in need of attention.

“This hotel offers friendly staff and a safe atmosphere. The rooms are well appointed, with new carpet and furniture in most common areas and many of the rooms. I'd stay there again anytime.”

“This was a good location for our trip. It was in central Colorado springs. The hotel seemed deserted while we were there. Perhaps we were in an isolated wing, but it was strange not to see other cars in the parking lot.”

• Family-friendly, comfortable and breakfast included!
• Minimal lighting in parking areas.

“My husband and I stay at this hotel when we are in town to visit his young children for a long weekend. It is just minutes from everything in Colorado springs, and serves its purpose well. We will happily stay there every time we are in cuss as it¿s affordable, clean and a good night's sleep.”

• Room was nice and neat, lots of space.
• Bed was a little uncomfortable, outside of hotel looked old.

“Overall it worked well given the situation. I would recommend this hotel to people who are frugal and look for good deals. Staff was really nice and it was located near neat Colorado attractions. The outside of the hotel was not as appealing as desired, but if you're not trying to impress, doesn't matter.”

• The new ownership has done a terrific job of renovation.
• Their reservation system did not recognize me.

• The "real" free breakfast (cooked to order) was fantastic as well as the staff.
• Needed to replace toilet seat.

“Although it has been repainted, etc., the exterior of this hotel might lead one to think it was not very nice inside. However, everything inside was very elegant (except it needs a new toilet seat in the bathroom of my room). The "cooked to order" hot breakfast and other buffet items were great and served by friendly staff.”
