“This hotel was rated 4 star I would be maxed out to give it a 3, It really catered to the very young crowd. Sat by the pool for as long as I could listening to loud conversation of others about getting stoned and partying.... along with music blasted from the DJ... was a bit more then I could handle. wasn't very relaxing. Along with an air conditioning unit in our room that sounded like a plane getting ready for take off every 30 minutes or so. The only thing I would give a good rating to would be the bed, it was comfortable. I wish I would of bought the cancellation insurance...this would be one time I would of used it.”

“We upgraded to a pool side room, which we spent more money for and their pool side rooms are not on the pool they are just on the side of the hotel that the pool is on. That was a big waste of money. You also had to pay for parking and internet.”

“Nice hotel and the Red Bar decor was a little strange.”

“The best thing was the bed was very comfortable. The worst thing was the $10.00 parking fee. We didn't know they had coffee or that we could have a maker in our room until the second to the last day of our stay. The toilet ran continually and the tub faucet dripped.”

“Staff is friendly, but I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. It is a low quality, cheap remodel and not worth the money.”

“The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The decor was very modern, a little dated and unusual.”

“Four star
is not deserved. Other than location, not many good points. Not very clean, loud & late partying guest, and terrible air containing systems. I would not stay at this location again.”

“This hotel was beautiful at first impression. The pool was very popular and bed was the most comfortable and the lighting.”

“Older hotel in great spot in Old Town Scottsdale, great for shopping! Seems like they took an old hotel and tried to dress it up. Rooms were clean, but very small.”

“ Overall, I would not give this hotel 4 stars since it is a little tacky and unprofessional (in the rooms and hallways). The pools were really nice and their lounge areas were very comfortable. The staff was friendly but we didn't request much from them. We went during the week, so it was a bit calmer. The hotel tries to be upscale (and succeeds marginally), and is not appropriate for kids. ”

“This is a hotel geared toward 20 somethings, and the pool area was very crowded with them. Didn't like all the extra charges for internet, parking. Also no coffee in room which made mornings less than desirable.”

“The hotel was very retro, was very close to old town Scottsdale. The help was wonderful and very polite and willing to help with all our needs.”

“The location of this hotel is my favorite - in the middle of Old Town Scottsdale, one of the few pedestrian friendly places in AZ (it seems). This was my 2nd stay at the Mondrian and again, the staff was extremely helpful, the gym clean and well maintained, the pool area very hip looking (wish I had time to partake in the scene), the bars fantastic, my only gripe about this property: the rooms aren't so nice. While the bed is very comfy, the rest of the room seems a bit worse for wear. They're going for a very sleek modern look, but with all of the paint scratches, scuffs, questionable carpeting, weird wall drapes, etc. It just doesn't match the quality of the rest of the property. Plus - no in room coffee, which always annoys me.”

“It was a great attempt at eclectic - but the spareness and decor should be something that is clearly mentioned to patrons as it would not be to everyones liking. It was not to mine. That said, the beds were very comfortable. Certainly a hotel geared to a younger generation.”

“I will never stay there again. This is supposed to be a quality hotel. The room was small and cramped. Every thing had a price, which was 3 to 4 times what it should have been. The cleanliness left a lot to be desired. Small details in the design of the room were neglected. I felt that they were doing me a favor to let me stay there.”

“Amazing original decor. What a shame for no coffee in the bedroom, no free internet access, and old air conditioning.”
