“I was under the understanding that it was closer to Venice beach. It was too far to walk. I also wished we knew that there was construction happening on the hotel across the street, facing where our room was (noisy). Asked to be moved but was not accommodated. My daughter & I also got bitten by something in our rooms both nights and found a huge spider in the bathroom.”

“The rooms were large, pleasantly appointed, and the bed was very comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful, BUT the reason I will probably not be staying here again relates to the lax security. The facility is adjacent to the marina and only a few blocks from Venice Beach, where vagrants and panhandlers abound. The card-key entry system on all of the doors was thwarted daily by the housekeeping staff, which propped the doors; open for most of the day. Then, as a matter of procedure, they leave the room doors open and not fully attended while performing their cleaning duties (The manager insisted that they do not do this, but I watched it happen several times.). As a result, I had a backpack and my overnight bag full of toiletries stolen from my room. I had put my valuables in the safe, so nothing valuable was taken, but it was very disconcerting to return and slowly realize that items were missing. One last thing - Anyone interested in swimming or relaxing in the hot tub should consider other accommodations unless you like to swim with ducks (mothers and babies - adorable, but I didn't want to share the pool).”

“I was excited to stay on the beach for what I thought was such a good price. But then I learned why it was so cheap. Weddings are commonly performed on the small grassy area which is directly in front of the guest's private patio/balcony. We literally had about 50 people within arm's distance of our patio which is of course attached to the room! People were looking directly into our room! When we closed our curtains we not only lost the beach view we paid extra for, but our room was pitch black. So instead of being able to enjoy the sunshine and the view of the beach, we were sitting with curtains closed and every lamp on in the room, listening to strangers exchange wedding vows from a pa system right outside our window! The wedding only lasted an hour, but then the loud music from the reception and from the motel's own bar carried on until the middle of the night so that I couldn't sleep well. Not exactly the experience I expected.”
