“I highly recommend this resort for families. The staff was friendly and helpful, especially when I needed to change rooms due to the wrong number of beds.”

“The overall setting for this get - away was the perfect choice for our 33 anniversery, the only damper on the whole experience was the overpriced poorly seasoned food at the Mistrel, the other restaurant cafe downstairs off the lobby was both tasty and priced correctly. I would and plan to visit this hotel again I truly felt like we rested and got a much needed break from our daily grind.”

“Beautiful beach location, far enough from the hustle of the city but not too far. Great for the 40+ traveler that wants a quiet escape either alone or with a loved one. Plenty of activities from bicycle rentals to Gondola rides. Wonderful dining options. Highly recommend it.”

“The hotel was great. Bed was comfortable. Only drawback is that it is 15 min away from main part of Coronado. You want a car if you are doing anything outside the hotel.”

“Staff was nice and helpful. Hotel room was large and had a good look out to the bay. Pool area was amazing but the cantina there closed early. Had to drive a bit to get to down town but it was a very easy trip. Over all was very happy and would recommend it to any one.”

“I loved staying here! There is a huge pool network outside with an adult pool, kids pool, and family pool. There are also 2 hot tubs. When the weather was nice this is where we mostly stayed. There are also tennis courts, a spa and boat rentals/boat rides available for a fee. There are several restaurants on site and although all are pricey the food and views are great, and obviously the location in convenient. The hotel is a few miles away from the downtown Coronado area so a rental car is convenient. I found the hotel staff to be incredibly friendly, and when we asked to have our room moved away from the loud children next door they moved us quickly. One note, this is a very family friendly hotel and maybe not the best spot for a romantic trip although this was our purpose and we had a great time!”

“We enjoyed our stay very much and would stay here again. It was away from the business area of Coronado, away from the residential, and sat in it's own private space on the ocean. It was just a short drive to shops, close to beaches, beautiful surroundings. Dining was excellent in the Market Cafe, great service. All in all, A+.”

“As regular 2-4 day get lawyers. The Loews Coronado Bay Resort is gem to shared with all who love our San Diego Bay. Being San Diego Raised, we prefer to take advantage of our local digs and amenities. Great food. Fresh seafood works for me every time. While my wife is the complete opposite and loved the Mistral at Loews Coronado Bay Resort & Spa. Try renting a boat as we did and see the sights from a awesome perspective! We loved IT! To be fare there were issues with Our room services Wendy a manager used it as a training opportunity and I trust such actions will be tighten down! Personally, I would give Loews Coronado Bay resort a 8 on my 1 - 10 meter. I expect to rent a larger boat and a 10 for Loews Coronado bay resort. Ummm You can't go wrong here !”

“Wonderful hotel with superior service, in a nice location. There is no transportation after 5 p.m. to or from Coronado and no transportation to San Diego. Unless you have a car, this is not a good location to access San Diego for a convention or meeting. Family-friendly but expensive. A charge applies for the use of the gym facility.”

“I knew the location would be a couple of miles from Downtown Coronado and I wanted it that way. I liked the security, couldn't get on the property unless you had a key. Close proximity of parking to your room/wing. Twice we came back in the late afternoon and our room had still not been attended to. Room service was very quick with excellent presentation. All staff we encountered were extremely courteous and helpful. Parking on the weekend was hard to find due to the many functions that were scheduled at the hotel. Overall, I liked our experience and stay for 6 days. Excellent value for what we paid. Would definitely stay there again.”

“It was for my honeymoon and I was pretty excited when I saw the Loews Coronado Bay Resort. This is one resort who's reputation precedes it and they didn't disappoint. After the wedding, we arrived (still in our wedding attire). The folks at the front desk congratulated us and since they were experiencing a low volume, they gave us the best room in the house. I didn't think much of it because even their lowest of rooms was still nicer than most, and it wouldn't take much to fool me. Let's just say that when we arrived in our room, it was anything but ordinary and quite extraordinary. I wish we would have had more time to explore those but we had other things planned and they needed at least 24 hours notice for most services. The room had a large marble entryway, two bathrooms, a large dining area, huge living room with a grand piano, bar, huge master bath with whirlpool bath and two person shower, huge bedroom and three balconies (at about 1800 sqft). I'll be telling my grandkids about this one.”

“This hotel is located on beautiful Coronado. The views are spectacular and the amenities are great. You will pay for each activity you choose to do but bike rental is reasonable and the gondola rides are a do not miss!”

“Please do not consider this hotel if your goal is to be in downtown San Diego. You will be frustrated and disappointed. However, you will love this hotel if you are looking for a getaway. The hotel is situated on a spit of land about 5 miles below Coronado Island. It is directly across from a great beach which, at low tide, is known for depositing hundreds of unbroken sand dollars. (You can walk there, or the staff will drive you there in a golf cart, and provide chairs/towels/boogie boards). The hotel itself has 3 pools for swimming: adult, kids, and family. The hotel is made up of 5 separate buildings: the main one, where the lobby, restaurants, etc. are, and then the 4 for guest rooms. The building closest to the lobby is building 1. If you are on the 3rd floor of building 1, your room number will be something like 13**. If you are in the 5th building, 2nd floor, your room number will be 52** and so on. Half the buildings face the bay/ocean, the others face the 3 pools and the Marina (where you can rent bikes, paddle boats and even kayaks). If you want to go into Coronado, you can either ride your bike along a bike path (next to the beach) or drive the 5 miles. Coronado Island itself is great for family bikes rides, with wonderful, non-chain little shops and very good food. We found the staff at this hotel to be incredibly helpful, always volunteering to do something for you, always responding promptly to a problem (we had a burned out light bulb in our bathroom). The bathrooms are all beautifully remodeled, and you could practically go scuba diving in the tub. Housekeeping will gladly provide you with as much bubble bath as you need! I was here as a family of 4, with 2 kids ages 9 and 11. We had a great time. However, it was always our goal to come to Coronado and stay there. If you came with the idea of going to the zoo/Sea World, etc. you might be a little frustrated at the 15-20 minute drive to get 'off island'.”
