“The front desk woman was very friendly, and gave us a 10th floor suite in Tower II. The room was clean and even smelled new (I did see a sign in the lobby of the tower saying Pardon our dust so maybe it was a newly remodeled room, although I did not see any construction going on in our tower). The suite had a separate living area with a door to the bedroom that could be closed. There was a sofa and matching chair, coffee and end tables, desk with chair, refrigerator, and microwave in the living area. Both the bedroom and the living room had large, flat-screen TVs. When the remote for one TV didn't work, a call to the front desk brought a new remote in less than 10 minutes. We had absolutely no complaints about the room or the view which looked down on the central courtyard and playground. And when my husband asked the housekeeper for more packets of coffee (he likes it strong), she cheerfully brought him more plus a special blend she recommended. The air conditioner/heater was very quiet, unlike many hotels where it can drown out the TV. The few cons: wireless internet costs $10/24 hours; Tower II is directly across from the hotel's Convention Center and shares the parking lot, so be prepared for a hike if there is a convention going on. There are three or four towers total. However, our stay was quiet, clean, and very enjoyable. Even the receptionist in the tower lobby was friendly and helpful (and she didn't try to sell us anything -- she was just there as a concierge).”

“This was the absolute worst hotel I have ever stayed at. The staff is rude and argumentative about everything! There were filthy room service dishes stacked up in the hallways every day of our stay there, and there was absolutely no security whatsoever - a pizza delivery person was able to leave fliers under our door, so anybody could just walk onto the guest floors in that place! Lots of things in our room did not work properly and were never fixed properly during the course of our stay. The restaurant was horrible too, with bad service, an argumentative waiter and bad food - we had the breakfast buffet and the food was terrible for $15 a person! In the lobby, they have people who pretend to be working for the hotel, but they are outside representatives who are there to sell overpriced attraction tickets, and the person next to that person is there to harass you into going to timeshare meetings! Every time I went into the lobby for directions or information, I was harassed to come to a timeshare seminar - we specifically asked if this hotel had anything to do with timeshares, because we didn't want to be bothered. They told us they were not affiliated in any way with timeshares, and this is what we had to put up with throughout our entire stay. Everything about this place was horrible, and I urge you not to spend your hard earned money at this hotel. There are a zillion hotels on the same strip as this place, so you have plenty of other choices Do not stay at the Caribe Royale!”

“This hotel is more geared toward business travelers. Front desk staff is not very friendly. No one even cracked a smile. We had to wait beyond check in time for our room to be cleaned. No apologies from the staff. Internet service is very expensive. Many hotels offer free Internet service. We stayed in one of the villas. It was very modern and clean. People we were traveling with were put in a villa where they were the only family. Business meetings were being set up each morning at 8:00 a.m. in the rooms around them. Chairs and tables were banging. The hotel staff even opened their door at 8:00 a.m. thinking it was a meeting room! Manager didn't seem to care much about this. The villas are a distance from the main pool. Restaurants are all very expensive.”
