“Certain halls in the hotel had a very odd odor but the area I stayed in was fine. This location is central to almost everything but the traffic is very heavy on most nights. Plan on being out of the parking lot by 5 if you want to get anywhere in less than one hour. Many restaurants and attractions in walking distance as well as several pubs. The pool seems to be very well maintained and the free breakfast is decent. The staff is friendly and helpful.”

“Rooms were cleaner than I expected based on other reviews. However, hallways were dirty and stairwells too. They made me pay $3 for a "resort" fee. Not cool.”

“They charged an extra $12.00 for my stay and listed it as a resort fee. This motel was far from being a resort and did not rate the star rating it received. The included breakfast was very meager and not worth the effort. The listed internet service was only available in the lobby.”

“Only a 1-night stay passing through so the location was ideal for us off I-4 and the Florida Turnpike. Close to restaurants.”

“Don't even bother showing up to see if it's really as bad as all the reviews. It was clear the room had sustained significant water damage in the past, warping the walls and allowing mold to grow around the air conditioner. The bed linens were soiled and the bathroom drain assembly fell apart in my hands. Rusting fixtures had just been painted over. If you have asthma, small children or elderly in your party, or if your immune system is weakened, this hotel will make someone seriously ill. Staff were rude and unaccommodating.”

“Great hotel if you are looking for a good place to sleep and not spending much time at the property. Close to everything. Places to eat within walking distance.”

“We arrived late at night and were treated well. However, there was no room service and half the vending machines didn't work. The halls constantly smelled like cigarette smoke, even though we were in a non-smoking hall. We were never able to find the pool. All internet was wireless, but they didn't have any wireless cards for loan, so we were stuck without internet for a week. Night desk staff did not always speak fluent English. We were constantly harassed at the front desk about buying timeshares. Housekeeping did not come on one day when we needed them and then claimed we had out the do not disturb sign when we did not. We ended up asking for trash bags, bagging the trash ourselves, and leaving the trash bags with all our dirty diapers in the hall by the vending machines as punishment for them. It was genuinely not pleasant overall, and we ended up leaving a day early.”

“This is an older hotel. There appears to be an effort to keep the hotel clean. They had a decent continental breakfast. There was an undisclosed extra charge at check-out Resort surcharge". It is conveniently located to Universal Studios.”

“Hotel was dirty. The staff, except for the front desk were discourteous. The breakfast area was way overcrowded and never enough food out. I wouldn't go to this hotel again, even if I were the owner and could stay for free!”

“While hotel services may be somewhat limited, they will feature a restaurant for breakfast or offer a continental buffet. Moderate-Plus hotels sometimes offer amenities for the business traveler and may have a residential feel. You may get another name-brand or independent hotel of equivalent quality. Courtyard ' Residence Inn ' Doubletree Club ' Homewood Suites ' Amerisuites ' Holiday Inn'. This hotel does not measure up to this level. The hotel room was overused with an uncomfortable bed and terribly noisy air conditioner.”

“Well the hotel is in a convenient area of I drive, though we had beggars asking us for money on the streets. The shuttle service to Disney only ran at 7:20am (2 hours before the parks open) and 11:40am (so you would not get there until noon) so the FREE shuttle service was useless. Just about as useless as the free breakfast--which was bread, Danish, bagels and cereal--maybe an apple. The service was ok--friendly and tried to help. The room was good size but it was dirty--pieces of food on the floor and the toilet were not clean. There were 2 days of our trip we were without hot water and we had to approach the hotel about compensation--seems as though that would be automatically offered. This hotel is NOT a 2.5 star hotel!”

“The location of Metropolitan Express is excellent--just off International Drive, easy to find and near plenty of convenient shops such as drugstores, Denny's, etc. The staff are very friendly and helpful, but there are a few drawbacks for the business traveler. First, there are no elevators! This was bad for me, as I had a very large rolling sample case as well as my own baggage. Lugging them up the inconveniently located stairs and through the long, mazelike halls was less than thrilling (although the front desk clerk carried them the first time). Next, the advertised Wi-Fi only worked in the lobby. The lobby is pleasant enough and wasn't crowded, but I would rather have worked in my room. Last, the humidity had affected the hall carpets. I know this is a constant problem in Florida so I don't hold it against them, but if you don't like the overpowering smell of the deodorant they use you might wish the hallways were shorter. Overall, I would say it was a good, inexpensive crash pad in Orlando, but it is probably more suited for a budget family vacation than for business travel.”

“No hot water for 1-1/2 days; sink stopped up and bathroom exhaust fan didn't work. For a newly renovated hotel it had a bad mildew smell. The bedding was old and worn. This was not a 2 1/2 star hotel.”

“We were surely mistaken. This hotel is awful. We spent all of 30 minutes (instead of the three days) in the hotel room before packing up and moving to something much better (a Sleep Inn of all places)”

“This hotel has been remodeled and is very clean and comfortable. The maid was excellent and took care of every request. Our room was in a quiet area which made for good sleeping. The hotel provided shuttle service to the parks. The continental breakfast was bountiful. Coffee and tea were provided 24/7 in the lobby along with high speed internet service. The price for the week could not be beat. Will go back.”

“Very poor hotel maintenance (very soiled and dirty hall carpeting) and room housekeeping (2 people used same small bar of soap for 5 days, no replacement of empty tissue box, shower curtain mildew, torn upholstery.) Then charged additional mandatory daily 'resort tax'.”
