“It was easy to find, just four blocks from the Fillmore, where we saw a show, after which we were easily able to walk back (we had a group of 4). The staff was very friendly and helpful, everything was clean and nice, and I was sad to hear that the hotel had been bought out by a hospital, and will be closing I believe at the end of 2009. Overall my stay was wonderful, and I will be staying there again for more Fillmore shows.”

“Very poor choice of a hotel both in its location (away from interesting neighborhoods and sites); and not a very safe neighborhood. The inside of the hotel is old, rooms are extremely small.”

“I really liked the location but the staff was downright mean. The room was very old and tiny. The bathroom was so small that I could not even close the door while inside. I give this hotel a star at most.”

“As a journalist who lives in Carmel, I've written many reviews for various papers. My wife and I took our 14 year old daughter to the nearby Curran Theater to see Chorus Line for her birthday present. She had as much fun as she ever had in Carmel or Beverly Hills, or at the SF Hilton. So I imagine that any affluent family, who all adore one another, will be just as happy here.”

“The front desk staff was wonderful. They were very helpful with answering any questions we had. The restaurant accommodated for food allergies and the staff was very pleasant. It was nice to have parking available at the hotel.”

“We walked everywhere we went, and it was a bit far for Fisherman's Wharf (2 miles) and Haight Ashbury (3 miles), but good exercise for sure. Many panhandlers in the nearby vicinity.”

“The room was nice and had a lot of space and a nice view of the city skyline and was conveniently located near Downtown and the Civic Center. Hotel staff could be a little friendlier, but it's a 2 star hotel.”

“The hotel was very quaint and comfortable and its location was very convenient for shopping and eating out. Also, it was not too far of a drive to get to the Wharf and other sites of interest. The staff was very friendly and helpful and was very accommodating.”

“It has a very nice lobby and hotel lounge. Four rooms, two of the rooms had 1 double bed each, two had king beds. My bed comforter had stain on it.”

“This hotel appears to have outlived itself. Service was very good but the room itself was not. The room smelled terrible but after you were in it a while, you didn't notice it anymore. There was no air conditioning which was uncomfortable when it was over 90 degrees outside. It was too loud out on the street to be able to sleep with the window open. The bathroom only had one light above the sink so you were taking a shower in the dark. There was no fan in the bathroom and the shower curtain kept falling off the end of the rod.”

“Location is okay. It is clean. The staff is friendly. Can't find the stairs which is strange. We had to take the elevator even for one floor. The beds were the worse part. The TV was old and the channel selection was poor. The bed was so poor I got sorer the longer I stayed.”

“This hotel was good for a quick over night stay is all. Having to pay to watch the television, was something that I had never heard. TV did not work unless you bought movies to watch. Normally when I have stayed at a nice hotel, there would be a small frig also in the room and a table to sit and eat at if needed, but here there was no such thing. Also the parking was not included which something should have been said about that and the price to park. The only good thing was the location and the maid service which made you feel welcome.”

“I checked out a day ahead of time because every time I went into the room and stayed more then 2 hours the mold would give me a headache. I went to the holiday inn down the street and finished my stay in SF.”

“The hotel location is very good. Downtown is within walking distance plus it is on two bus lines. The bar/restaurant was clean and the prices moderate. The cleaning staff could have been better.”

“Many of the lights did not work. The window faced a giant billboard for a retirement community. The "queen size" bed felt more like a full. We asked for a new room, but the bed was no larger, and there was some kind of dried syrupy liquid all over the toilet seat. Housekeeping came quickly to clean it, but it left us feeling like the hotel does not rate near a 3-star. You also have to pay $5 for 20 minutes of internet usage in the lobby.”

“Some renovated rooms available for some more $ per night; non renovated rooms show their age. Old mattresses, threadbare sheets, flat pillows; single sheeted blanket. Toilet leaked at pipes but was promptly repaired. Balcony room overlooked pool, nice but noisy when children are at play. parking garage is a tight fit. Hotel has dining facilities and room service. Lower priced dining available within walking distance. Soda machine on 6th floor didn't work.”
