• Very peaceful, clean with a simple elegance. Very courteous/polite staff.
• Small details in room condition need updated, ie paint touch ups.

“Hotel was very nice and clean with a very relaxing atmosphere. Room and bed were also clean and comfortable with very nice amenities including cozy bath robes and wonderful soaps/lotions. The Japanese soaking tub was very nice as well, a special treat.”

• The decor and the Japanese Bath and Shower.

“Centrally located in Japan town of San Francisco it was convenient to all neighborhoods with a 3 day bus pass. Local shops in Japan town and Filmore St good for food and shopping. Hotel is clean and well run. Good value for money. Would recommend it to others.”

• Cool theme, great neighborhood. Maybe not for everyone but we loved it.
• The room was not quite immaculate but comfortable. Bathroom lacks a door.

“If you like unique experiences in ethnic neighborhoods, decent prices and good access to bus lines anywhere in the city, this place is it. If you want something traditional, perfect and yawn, well, I don't stay where you want to stay.”

• Modern, in Japan town, not too expensive.

“The hotel was nice and the people who work there are friendly. Need more affordable places to eat around that area though; had to drive looking for eats.”

• Great Bathtub.
• Only one valet for the 10 cars checking in.

“Japanese with a nod to the West. Deep tub but also with big beds. Newly remodeled, clean, quiet. Lots of Eastern touches everywhere like small Zen garden outside. Very good value. In middle of Japan Town so lots of restaurants nearby. Close to the Fillmore Auditorium.”

• The public areas and of the hotel were superb.
• Didn't meet expectations.

“The room are very noisy, both from street traffic and from the hotels own hallways. Don't expect to get good nights sleep here at all. While the ambiance and decorations of the public space is great, the rooms are slightly underwhelming. The extra sitting area consisted of exactly one chair, and the "balcony" was less than a foot wide and covered by astro turf.”

• Location and free wine hour.
• The lighting in the bathroom is too dim.

“Overall, we were satisfied with the hotel. The only negative thing is the limited overnight parking. Even if you paid the $25 fee, there's no guarantee a space will be available if you leave and return later in the evening.”

• No hotel restaurant or room service except breakfast.

• I liked the Japanese décor.
• Not a lot of parking-expensive overnight parking.

“I enjoyed my stay at the Myakka. If you like exploring Japan town, this is the place to be! I enjoyed our room which looked out on the city. The room was clean, and the Japanese decor gave it a peaceful, yet romantic quality.”
