“With clean rooms, a Bart stop right across the street, and it's great location to the financial district, Union Square, and the Embarcadaro. This is a nice hotel to stay. The rooms were clean yet small.”

“It was okay, but we won't stay there again. The room was tiny, and there were several things missing from our room. The desk staff was excellent, however. There are just better places to stay in SF.”

“I was traveling with 3 other people. One of the people in my party lost her room key and they would not issuer her a new one until I came down to the frond desk, in the middle of the night to vouch for her. They had no record, again, of here have a reservation. Opposite of what happened at check-in. It was a unusually warm April day in Downtown San Francisco. It did not cool down much that night. Despite the fact the room had great new digital thermostats, no cool air was every delivered to the room. The street noise from outside was too much to bear to have the windows open, so our entire party spent the night in a sauna.”

“The Palace Hotel" met their 4 star criteria. This hotel's walls are paper thin. I could hear every conversation and every TV from two rooms away.”

“The Palace is a gorgeous, historic hotel. Its location is in Union Square East and is close to public transport and walking distance to Embarcadero, shopping and the Metropolitan Museum of Art among other attractions. The Pied Piper lounge, with its Mayfield Parrish painting, is a snug spot for meal or cocktails. The staff at the Palace could not be more helpful and professional.”

“I would definitely stay at The Palace Hotel most likely on my next stay in the city. I was with my mother as well as my 2 girls (10&11) we were all pleasantly surprised and your staff was very friendly which is a huge plus.”

“Palace Hotel is one of those "grand dame" hotels that once were in the glory of her days. Lots of famous people stayed there, but no longer. The rooms, although remodeled, are extremely small with virtually no amenities. We were shocked that there was no coffee maker, and no mini bar, despite the fact that there's a small refrigerator! One can only assume the hotel doesn't want to bother to service these amenities. But these days, travelers expect those for a 3- or 4-star hotel. The check-in clerk was also very rude. Because I made the reservations under my husband's name (I kept my maiden name), and I was trying to check in while he was parking the car, the clerk demanded to call him on the cell phone. Even though he said of course I could check us in, she would not, and continued to grill him on how and where he made the reservations-- which he didn't know because I had made them! She was overly zealous in the name of security to the point of extreme rudeness. Finally, after I asked to speak to a manager did she begin the check-in process?”

“The Palace Hotel has a beautiful lobby and the rooms are gorgeous and very comfortable. The internet connection should be free to all guests, though. Parking is very expensive, around 50 dollars. So all the extras add up.”

“We greatly enjoyed the palace hotel. It's very elegant and very comfortable. The brunch is fantastic, as well. I had selected and paid for 2 rooms with king size beds, but upon check in was provided with 2 rooms with double beds. My husband and I were switched to a king after bringing this to their attention, but our friends were told there were no kings left. I was disappointed in that. Otherwise, we enjoyed our stay very much.”

“Great location. Grand first floor. Not the place to stay if you are trying to impress a woman due to the need for more cleanliness. Probably get better service if you pay full price.”
