“My husband had just been released from the Univ of Miami Hospital after cancer surgery. It was uncomfortable for him in the bed and he is allergic to feathers so left after one night and didn't use the second. I do think this is a very nice hotel but not in our situation last week.”

“The hotel is trying very hard to be a 4 star hotel but its age derails it. Things appeared dated like the bathroom. Also, the area they rent for weddings, bar Mitzvah's etc. around the pool is quite bothersome for those travelers just wanting to rest. The live music impeded our ability to get much needed sleep well past midnight despite being on 7th floor. Also, the breakfast was quite tasty but over the top expensive!”

“Overall, the hotel provided excellent service. The restaurant had a nice ambiance and the food was good. The rooms were small and the bathroom was quite cramped for two people. There was not a coffee maker in the room which seemed odd for a four star hotel. No small refrigerator and the hair dryer did not work. Norwegian Cruise Lines had a shuttle from this hotel which is why we selected it.”

“Hotel is convient to airport, shuttle was readily available to pick us up once we arrived. Shopping area with grocery store within easy two block walk. Shuttle to Port of Miami was easily arranged for through concierge. Pool area relaxing but disappointed there was no hot tub.”

“It was a very nice hotel. The staff was extremely helpful and accomodating. Reading other comments of the hotel prior to our stay about the hotel not being clean or staff not friendly is not true. The hotel was beautiful and the staff was extremely pleasant. I highly recommend this hotel for business or pleasure.”

“The hotel is within five minutes of the airport. The shuttle was extremely comfortable and on time. The staff went out of their way to make us feel at home and had a we will take care of it attitude. I would stay there again.”

“I was fairly impressed with this property. I was pleasantly surprised by the room service menu and the food was phenomenal. I ordered a NY steak and mesclun salad and was very impressed. The steak was cooked to order, the vegetables were all dente and the herbed butter was perfect. The service was prompt and the server was pleasant also. The beds were very comfortable and the sheet sets plush. All in all I was very happy.”

“The room was very clean and the decor was modern and up to date. There were a few blemishes here and there. But, as they just came off their busy tourist season, I have faith these blemishes will be cleared up during the non-peak time. The pool with waterfall was beautiful and offered a nice sunset view. The staff was friendly. However, $4.50 for a small bottle of Gatorade and $8 for a cup of fruit is a bit on the excessive side. I would definitely stay at Sofitel again!”

“The staff was very courteous and helpful, from the housekeepers to the concierge. The decor was lovely and modern. The beds were very cozy and comfortable. My kids loved the pool. It was just as I had expected from the other reviews. Would recommend to anyone. Also, a 15 minute ride to Miami Beach and even shorter to Biscayne Bay and Downtown Miami. Plenty of malls and shopping near by. Excellent!”

“I found this hotel to be out-of-date. It looked like it needed renovations in the rooms. The bathroom sink did not drain well at all. The decor was dated. There was a smell to the elevators and the rugs were worn out and dirty looking. The staff was aloof and unfriendly. The exercise room was distant from the hotel. There was a nice pool but it also looked old. It was overall an adequate hotel but the amenities and facilities were not up to par with it's rating.”

“The Sofitel in Miami is not the same as the other Sofitel's. The rooms look nice but its not clean. There is no free coffee or fridges in the room. You get the basics. No free breakfast only a little cafe which is really expensive $8.00 US for a yogurt cup. The staff will only do what is offered at the hotel and nothing more. Not impressed with this hotel and would not stay here again for the price.”

“When you check in the hotel looks nice. Going to the rooms you can tell it was old. The bathrooms were disgusting. There was hair, dirt and q-tips on the floor from the previous guest. It was not cleaned properly. The staff there does not bend over backwards to please you like they do on cruise ships.”
