“Upon my arrival, I checked in. The staff seemed to be slightly ambivalent. Now, that's not to say that all of them were, but a couple of the young ladies up front didn't seem too concerned or overtly friendly - but that's not terribly important if you do your job right. After check in, I went to my room (on the 2nd or 3rd floor) and went to my room. The room looked out over the air conditioners or venting system - but that I could live with. What I couldn't handle was being put in the wrong room (no king bed) and it was a smoking room! A very obviously smoking room! So, I called back and told them of the error and eventually was told to come back down stairs (as opposed to having it brought up to me) and given a room on the 7th floor that was a king and looked out over the terminal. The rooms were dated, no major noise from the outside (planes) but the interior definitely kept no secrets. The television choices were way too slanted to the airport amenities and not enough for enjoyment and relaxation. The internet access (in an era of free wi-fi) was charged and couldn't be charged to the room. The rooms were tight, as well as the bathroom. I ordered room service. The food was badly seasoned and cold in some areas. The next day, I went to my appointment and returned to the hotel. I arrived late (apparently the airport shuts down at 10 pm - kind of weird for an international airport) but rules are rules. I went to the hotel restaurant and was sat for dinner. I ordered dinner and the meat came to me underdone. The manager came over (after I pointed this out to the server) and had the order redone - but (surprise) the meat came out the exact same way. At that point, the rest of my meal was cold - I was over it and paid. But it didn't end there the same thing that happened when I ordered room service the night before - about not being able to charge to my room - happened again. Needless to say, I checked out the following day and returned took an early flight out to Atlanta. I had to jump thru hoops (the operator and some staff had no clue as to how to give information to contact customer service, etc). The executive secretary was very helpful. I use hotels all over the country, and have had varies levels of issues and service. Most trips to Florida (in the Miami area or close to it) I research my options and go from there. I will be returning to the area within the next few weeks and will use the Miami airport and rental services, but have serious doubts (as things stand now) as to whether I will be using the hotel again.”

“This was not a 3-star hotel. Not even close. It was old and dirty. The ceiling tiles were rotting. There was no closet. ”

“Hotel was very nice, couldn't be a better location for overnight lay over. We didn't have hot water in the morning for showers, but they took a little off the price of our room.”

“It's convenient. I think it's a little overpriced. People staying there certainly do not need much more than a bed and TV and computer hookup. Restaurant was very expensive and most restaurants were closed at the airport by 9:00 pm.”

“Adequate for our overnight stay between flights. Very close to customs and immigration and our Alaska Airlines departure.”

“When I found out that I had to spend a night in Miami on my way to Curacao, I thought the location and facilities offered at the Miami International Airport Hotel would be perfect. When I got there, though, the location was great, but the room was small, the furnishings were old, and the pool, the primary reason I selected this venue, was closed for repairs.”
