• The rooms were clean and updated.
• No coffee makers in the rooms and no ice machines on each floor.

• Well located, comfortable room and bed, clean, and the cool neighborhood.
• No in room coffee.

“The Sutton place hotel is a quaint boutique hotel located just a block away from Michigan Avenue. The room was very nice and well equipped with both a flat screen TV and stereo system. I had a great view and could see a little bit of Lake Michigan from the 21st floor. Loved the big bathroom with glass shower and bathtub and the ability to adjust the water pressure! The concierge was also very helpful in making restaurant recommendations, giving directions, etc. Very friendly staff!”

• Charged extra for upgrading rooms from a king to a double.

“This hotel is in the perfect location for visiting Chicago and experiencing the nightlife. Very clean, nice basic room with fridge, huge bathrooms and very helpful staff. Overall I would highly recommend it.”

• Great location. Excellent places to eat around the corner (Hugo's Frog Bar & Grill). Pancake house across the street.
• I thought is advertised a flat screen
  TV and I did not have that in my room.

“Excellent location. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Great places to eat within 1 block of hotel. Shopping on Michigan Avenue about 3 blocks away. I was there on business and my seminar was at the Marriott on Michigan Avenue. My room was much nicer than the rooms at the Marriott. Would stay there again!”

• Very good service.
• Parking is $45 a day.

“The hotel was very nice, clean, and the service was excellent. You are a very short walk away from all the downtown action. You’re also close to navy pier where there is also plenty of action. Did not like that parking (valet is the only option) is $45 a day. You’re not advised at the counter that there is a parking garage about a half block away that charges $15 a day.”

• Location could not be better. Very friendly, helpful doorman and valet.
• Ice was only available through room service. No coffee facilities in room. Coffee in lobby only available Mon - Fri.

“Very nice hotel in a lovely setting. The lack of easy access to ice for our room, or coffee in the morning could lead us, however, to seek a different hotel in that great neighborhood on our next stay.”

• It had a great location and great staff!
• Would have enjoyed a free breakfast or a fridge (not just a minibar!).

“The SP exceeded my expectations. The staff was friendly, helpful and great overall. The room was a good size, with nice contemporary decor. The bathroom easily fit 2 people. I loved the deep soaking tub and the Gilchrist - soames toiletries. The bed was very comfortable and I had no trouble getting correct temperature water from the shower. The hotel is right off of Rush St, within a block or two of more than 5 or 6 restaurants and bars. It is a few blocks from the El, free trolley and the Magnificent Mile. It was close without being too crowded with tourists.”

• Slow service. Baggage did not make it to room for very long time.

“Room was ok. Location was great. Baggage did not arrive at room in a timely manner. I had to call down and was told it would be up immediately. After 30 minutes, I went to lobby. Eventually learned luggage was delivered to wrong room. This caused me to be late for an engagement and the staff was very unconcerned.”

• Was wakened by police loudspeaker quieting the crowd.

“I have stayed in the Sutton Place before and I really enjoyed again. Nice location, nice facility, very accommodating staff. Will repeat as often as I can. I would enjoy a pool also larger exercise room.”

• Sutton place is "out of the way" location but conveniently located for our business needs. Surrounding restaurants are some of the best in Chicago, a.
• Didn't have a hair-dryer in the room, but that was remedied by calling housekeeping.

“We prefer to stay at Sutton place over the larger chains because of its attention to detail from the greeting of the doorman to the housekeeping staff that maintains the rooms. There are plenty of quality restaurants near by including a "mom and pop" neighborhood cafe that serves and excellent breakfast. It is always busy!”

“This is a cold, unfriendly, and drab hotel. There is nothing about it worth the price they charge except for the location. With so many hotels at the same cost and location, I can't think of any reason I would ever stay there again.”
