• Large room and good free breakfast.
• Beds were very hard and uncomfortable and pool was tiny.

• Location is good for the price - pool is nice too.
• Older. Somewhat noisy. Room smelled like it used to be a smoking room.

“It was a nice hotel for the location and the pool area. Very close to the beach. But the hotel is older and a bit run down. The beds weren't very comfortable (though not the worst I've experienced in hotels) and it was quite noisy. The back door that should have been locked for security was wide open with the card access blocked with masking tape.”

• Breakfast was very good; attendant was very nice
• Sound from above us; bed had dangerous slat sticking out.

“Could not sleep due to children jumping above us until way after midnight. Bed had board protruding out of side which I bruised my leg on. Breakfast was great!”

• It was reasonably priced for the room I needed.
• The meal time was so crowded that you couldn't get to the food.

“I enjoyed the stay as I was with my grandchildren and spent time at the beach. It provided all the amenities that we needed and was quiet in the room but everywhere people were. The pool, dining area and any other public space was so crowded you spent a lot of time in your room or at another establishment.”

• You had to stand to see the view instead of sit.

• Took great advantage of the view, given the orientation of the building.
• Breakfast area competed with ingress/egress to stairway.

• It was convenient and clean. Nice staff.
• They said they had hot breakfast, it was closed down way too soon and they should state first come first serve. Don't sleep in.

“We enjoyed it very much, the staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and comfortable. We did not get a chance to enjoy the breakfast because they had the table cleaned and no food left by the 10 am time. They never have enough for people who like to sleep in on their vacations. Otherwise great place to visit.”

• Hotel staff was not too friendly and a bit lazy.

“I enjoyed our stay at this hotel. We tried to check in at 2 pm and the staff, in a slightly rude tone, told us check-in is at 4 pm. I have checked in early at many other hotels. Our room was clean, beds comfortable, soap smelled really good! Pool was nice, hot tub was a slightly green tint in color. Continental breakfast was ok. But the staff wasn't too friendly.”

• Clean. The continental breakfast was beyond our expectations!
• The shower. Had some problems w/the shower head working properly.

“Staff very pleasant. The amenities were great. Pool, hot tub and work out room are super for vacationers as well as the internet access. We had a very nice stay and would return again when our next trip is scheduled. We were very impressed with the breakfast as well as the location.”

• The Staff were very accommodating and went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed.
• There was nothing we didn't like. The pool could have been slightly warmer!

“We felt this was good value for the money we spent. The staff went out of their way to be friendly and accommodating, even allowing us to check in early so my three year old could take a nap. My family enjoyed the free breakfast, which had a great variety of things, including fresh fruit. The location was great, a short walk through the dunes to the ocean. We could see the sea from our window. At night while we were looking out we even spotted a deer on the lawn. The shops were within walking distance too!”

• Great location, nice continental breakfast, nice room.
• Check in too late, hotel refused to honor our club discount saying the owner does not participate.

“The Holiday Inn Express is a nice hotel with comfortable amenities, a nice continental breakfast, great location, and picturesque views. However, the owners/staff did not seem to prioritize their customer when they refused to honor a club discount, and refused to allow our group to have an adjoining room, when both rooms were booked together for this purpose. They had a swimming pool, but provided no pool toys, which other hotels usually have for their guests, and we had to call the lobby from the pool, to bring us towels, as their towel rack was empty. So, generally good, but with a little effort on their part, could have been great.”
