“Other than the fact that you could hear every conversation in the hall, the people next door and every shower being turned on, it was great. For the price, very nice.”

“There were two areas that the ceiling was stained. The bathroom tile was outdated and had grout missing. The air return vent in the bathroom had a thick layer of dust.”

“This hotel is older and in need of a serious update. The staff, except for housekeeping (they were very nice), was not friendly or helpful. The walls of the rooms are paper thin and every noise on your floor can be heard. The hotel was one big party scene when we were there-college kids drinking everywhere, including in front of the hotel. We had centipedes in our room. There was no exhaust fan in the room so every time we took a shower, the entire room fogged up. We were charged a $50 refundable fee by the hotel (this was to verify that our credit/debit card could be used while we were staying there). The charge is supposed to be refunded in 5-10 business days.”

“Conveniently located, very beautiful surroundings, clean comfortable rooms, all anyone could ask for in a hotel.”

“This was a very comfortable, pleasant hotel. It's in a location convenient to downtown and to Vanderbilt and Belmont Universities. Other pluses - (1) plenty of free parking, (2) pleasant, helpful staff, (3) good music piped into the lobby all the time - and not too loud or too soft.”

“A large, nice, clean facility close to the highway. Not in downtown Nashville but we had a car and the close highway access made it easy to get to downtown and to Opryland.”

“No fridge, no newspaper, no free internet anywhere in the hotel, and bad cleaning. Old furniture, the pool wasn't open in May, no spa.”

“I definitely would not recommend the Maxwell House to anyone. The staff was not particularly friendly or helpful. One of the desk clerks directed me to the nearest mall but failed to mention that it was about 15 miles away! I was not impressed.”

“If you are going to go downtown on the shuttle from this hotel, find out whether there is an event downtown before arranging the shuttle. They left us sitting downtown in the sleet and snow for 30 minutes. Otherwise, the hotel was nice and comfortable. I wouldn't use the throw pillows though. Just something about knowing everyone else uses those pillows too.”

“Nice hotel but location was inconvenient. I wouldn't stay there again due to the location. It was safe, just not particularly close to downtown or Vanderbilt, which were the places I was visiting. I think it should not be included in the overall area that it is presently being included in.”

“The public areas in the hotel were very inviting, especially decorated for Christmas. The staff at the front desk were very friendly and helpful when we asked questions about dining, parking, and "Steeler bars." The rooms were comfortable, but showed some signs of wear (i.e. spots on carpet, cracks in tub, and worn decorator pillows). Otherwise, the hotel is very nice. We enjoyed the hotel bar and the breakfast buffett. We were able to reach downtown within a few minutes in our own car and also took the shuttle, which was very convenient.”

“Well worth the price, Just close enough to everything, without being caught up in a busy Nashville and its rush of traffic. A place I would want to stay again and highly recommend to others.”
