“Hair in bed, loud air conditioner that didn't work, construction occurring nearby, room next to elevator bank very loud, they also charge $10 for internet that is painfully slow.”

“This hotel is terrible. The carpet was dingy and in need of thorough cleaning. The moldings were cracked. The "air conditioner" was circa 1950. There is no fitness center, no premium channels, the room was tiny, the Internet service (extra charge) was dial-up speed, the bathroom has no space for one's own toiletries.”

“The hotel was old but adequate in the public areas. The two restaurants were very good. Our room was very small with a double bed. I was expecting at least a queen. The mattress was not very comfortable and the bedding was average. Our power to the TV went out three times. We had to phone the front desk to have it restored.”

“Even though one does not expect too much for a 2-1/2 star hotel, this one was below that expectation. The room was poorly lit, the lights went on and off. I could not plug anything in to charge because the plug would fall out. The bathtub tile and caulking had mold on it. The beds were uncomfortable. The halls smelled of pain and looked horrible.”

“After paying for my room on Priceline this hotel forced me to 'upgrade' my room when I arrived and charged me $60 more per night.”

“I ended up being upgraded to a sister Hotel, when the Wellington was fully booked and my room was not available. The staff was friendly and everything was taken care of promptly. The Blakely was very close by and there was no hassle. My room and stay was great.”

“A good hotel for the deal I got through Priceline. The room was a little small and not what I expected. The service was good. The valet parking is pricey.”

“Really enjoyed the location of this hotel. It was very close to the subway, easy to drive to; the valet parking was a great service and not more expensive than the going rate. The rooms were very clean and comfortable.”

“A nice busy hotel in midtown Manhattan. Breakfast is not included. There is no swimming pool or fitness center. They didn't have my room ready until 3 PM, and did not have an alternate room available for me to check into. There was pay internet in the lobby, which I used. The rooms had wireless internet only, and since my wireless function on my laptop was not working, I had to pay for it in the lobby.”

“The towels were like sandpaper. Haphazard renovations/updating left an attractive sink and a huge LCD TV that looked like it had mistakenly landed in a third-world hotel. The room was dusty and worn, though it was clear that even the original construction was shoddy. Worst was the bed, with an old, uncomfortable mattress. The thin doors at this hotel are prone to slam as they shut, and it's impossible to block out this cacophony of doors in the morning. There is some variance in the quality of the rooms, as I have stayed here before and was provided with a more passable state. This time, I made it through one night but was quite grateful to be leaving the next day.”

“Small beds in width and length. My feet must have hung out of the bed by about 1 foot. Good AC once you find the hidden control. If you want to adjust the temperature of your shower every 15 seconds from boiling to freezing then this was the hotel for you. There was no thermostat controlling temperature. The act of lifting the toilet seat up makes it impossible to access the toilet roll! Very helpful and friendly reception staff. Concierge were not so friendly and helpful. Doorman had an excellent knowledge. A well stocked bar helps dull the pain of the small bed. Excellently situated for Central Park and Times Square. Great breakfast restaurant attached to the hotel on the corner of the building. I wouldn't stay there again.”

“Great value for a midtown hotel. Was upgraded to a queen mini-suite at no extra charge. Very convenient to theaters, museums & Central Park. An older well maintained hotel, but in need of some updating and minor repair.”

“Fabulous location. Reasonable price. Not a showy or upscale hotel at all, but a clean and comfortable place to sleep at a good price within walking distance of everything.”

“The staff was the friendliest I have ever met and I felt safe being a single woman traveler. The bed was a little uncomfortable and the pillows too flat. The TV worked well and the shower was great, with hot water almost immediately and great pressure. I would stay here again.”
