“The room at this hotel was the biggest and most specious hotel room I have ever stayed. The kitchen was bigger than the one at my apartment! The beds were new, and living room was very spacious and the bathroom were well kept. The staff was there whenever I needed and everything exceeded my expectations.”

“. No public areas except a very tiny lobby. Not what you would expect for $160 per night.”

“It was fine for what we needed, but I was frustrated that I could not select my room type before arrival. We almost had to pay an additional $30/night for a rollaway bed since we were traveling with our daughter and the room only had 1 bed in it. The hotel agreed to waive the charge and could not understand why we were not allowed to reserve the room type ahead of time.”

“The Eastgate tower is simple, efficient and practical. The service courteous and helpful. While the lobby is spare and the rooms a little dated - the room, kitchenette and bathroom was clean and maintained. Good value.”

“Rooms are huge, and would be great if they spent some money upgrading the furniture and carpets.”

“I was there with a large group, and the 2 bedroom suite was more than enough room. It is in a quieter area of NYC, but an easy walk to many locations.”

“We stayed in a one bedroom with a full kitchen over Thanksgiving. It was great. I was able to cook a complete Thanksgiving dinner. They even provided an extension for the large round table, which then set 6 comfortably. It was like having your own apartment in New York on the 24th floor!”

“Restaurant was closed for construction, but neighborhood was good for food. Lobby too small for the number of guests. Rooms were ok. Rooms were more like a normal holiday inn room. Location is good for east side access. Hotel people friendly and helpful. Hall on our floor was dark, looked dirty (but probably because poorly light) and had stale smells, not good as you go for your room. Next time, prefer to pay a bit more and stay at a better hotel. Ok for budget tourists and single business person on a budget, but not me. I expected more.”

“This hotel is very convenient for us. And the room is also very big, the furniture is kind of old though.”

“It was a drab, dark hotel, which I did not feel was worth. The location was good; however, and the front desk staff that attended us were all helpful and friendly.”

“For my purpose in New York City, hotel locations was great, centrally located. Very helpful staff. Room was an efficiency apt. Extra room great. However, the hotel was in need of renovations. Dated furniture and the bed was very hard and uncomfortable for me.”

“Location was far from subway, but nice quite neighborhood of Murray Hill. A couple of blocks from Grand Central Station, but not close enough to Subway if you've been walking all day. This place is in desperate need of renovations. Business would probably be better if the facilities were a little more modern. Apparently this building used to be an apartment building, so the rooms, as a hotel, are quite roomy. I would not stay here again unless the stay was free.”

“Bathroom was to small, the room smelled like an ashtray, the fridge was very convenient but was working just ok, the restaurant was closed.”

“The location was good, nice and quiet. A brisk 20 minute walk to Time Square. The staff was great and our 1 bedroom, 1 1/2 bath suite landed us to plenty of space to spread out and relax. Having a microwave and refrigerator was a real treat and bonus!”

“The East gate Tower is one of the best kept secrets in New York. It is accessible to some of the main attractions in New York. The staff is friendly and ensures that your trip is a pleasant experience. When the Front Desk attendant told me to enjoy my SUITE I thought she was mistaken. When I got to my room, I was surprised that I did have a suite with 2 queen beds, 2 bathrooms, full living room, dining area a kitchen. What a pleasant surprise! I highly recommend this hotel to anyone travel to NY for business or pleasure.” Amenities at Eastgate Tower, New York City
