  • The room size was big and spacious. It could fit 3 people in a room if 1 bathroom wouldn't be a situation.
  • There was a smell in the rooms. It made me suspect smoking and non-smoking rooms were not separated.

“ I went on a trip with 3 of my friends for my birthday weekend. The room was ready early at 1 pm. Quiet New York area. A bit far away from the subway so you might as well take a cab. Small lobby but the staff was friendly even though they were busy. My room was upgraded, which is a nice surprise. The room was spacious with a kitchenette, dining area, seating area, queen bed and bathroom. The room had a hint of a funny smell like stuffy smoke. My guests did not notice and after a while I didn't notice so it wasn't a huge problem. The room was pretty clean but my guests said their was a garbage in their trash and a bottle cap behind their couch. For the price overall acceptable and good deal. ”

  • Great location, close to main transportation hub (Grand Central Station).
  • Needs a little updating.

“Great hotel if you do not want to spend too much. I understand most hotel rooms in Manhattan are tiny, which was not the case here.”

  • It was in Manhattan.

“I've stayed in converted apartment buildings in Manhattan before. This one by far was the worst. Dumpy bathroom and room. terrible bed and bedding. There was just nothing I liked at all about this place.”

  • Priced right good location and access to everything nearby.

“The price was right for the location and everything was just a short walk away, eg restaurants, drug store, etc.”

  • The staff was really friendly and courteous.
  • Just needs a bit of renovation in certain areas. Great hotel though!

“Fun place located right where you want to be.
A bit of a walk to the attractions, but a great hotel with very nice courteous staff.”

  • For NY, the hotel room was extremely spacious and well priced.
  • The hallways were small, cramped and dark..

“The room at this hotel was the biggest and most specious hotel room I have ever stayed. The kitchen was bigger than the one at my apartment! The beds were new, and living room was very spacious and the bathroom were well kept. The staff was there whenever I needed and everything exceeded my expectations.”

  • I liked the friendliness of the staff and location of the hotel.
  • Rooms looked a bit old and dated, but they were clean otherwise.

“The Eastgate Tower Hotel is dank.”

  • The location was ot bad and it was a safe area.
  • It was old and in great need of an upgrade on decorations and furniture.

“. No public areas except a very tiny lobby. Not what you would expect for $160 per night.”

  • They were accommodating with a rollaway bed.
  • Very small.

“It was fine for what we needed, but I was frustrated that I could not select my room type before arrival. We almost had to pay an additional $30/night for a rollaway bed since we were traveling with our daughter and the room only had 1 bed in it. The hotel agreed to waive the charge and could not understand why we were not allowed to reserve the room type ahead of time.”

  • I liked the kitchenette and the helpfulness of the staff.
  • The info card said internet required a cable which I purchased only to find out that there was wireless.

“The Eastgate tower is simple, efficient and practical. The service courteous and helpful. While the lobby is spare and the rooms a little dated - the room, kitchenette and bathroom was clean and maintained. Good value.”

  • Close parking.
  • In bad need to new carpets and furniture.

“Rooms are huge, and would be great if they spent some money upgrading the furniture and carpets.”

  • Spacious rooms, comfy bed, nice kitchen.
  • Noise level-people in hallway
at 4:00 am, elevator noisy-room right next to it.

“Wonderful stay. Large, clean rooms. Comfy bed. Very friendly staff. Convenient location.”

  • Very spacious rooms.

“I was there with a large group, and the 2 bedroom suite was more than enough room. It is in a quieter area of NYC, but an easy walk to many locations.”

  • I loved the large living room and the convenience of a full kitchen.
  • The subway was a bit of a walk to get to.

“We stayed in a one bedroom with a full kitchen over Thanksgiving. It was great. I was able to cook a complete Thanksgiving dinner. They even provided an extension for the large round table, which then set 6 comfortably. It was like having your own apartment in New York on the 24th floor!”

  • Clean enough, in murray hill is good.
  • Lobby filled with budget travelers, cheap image for a 3 star.

“Restaurant was closed for construction, but neighborhood was good for food. Lobby too small for the number of guests. Rooms were ok. Rooms were more like a normal holiday inn room. Location is good for east side access. Hotel people friendly and helpful. Hall on our floor was dark, looked dirty (but probably because poorly light) and had stale smells, not good as you go for your room. Next time, prefer to pay a bit more and stay at a better hotel. Ok for budget tourists and single business person on a budget, but not me. I expected more.”

  • The location was good; front desk staff helpful. Might have been nice for more than a night's stay.
  • It was a drab, dark hotel,.

“It was a drab, dark hotel, which I did not feel was worth. The location was good; however, and the front desk staff that attended us were all helpful and friendly.”

  • Very helpful staff.
  • Bed very hard and uncomfortable. Hotel needed renovations.

“For my purpose in New York City, hotel locations was great, centrally located. Very helpful staff. Room was an efficiency apt. Extra room great. However, the hotel was in need of renovations. Dated furniture and the bed was very hard and uncomfortable for me.”
