• Room smelled bad, roaches in the room.

“I stayed at 2 hotels within 3 days, this review is for the Best Western I stayed at on the night of the 21st of May. Got in late (12:30am), was very tired, there was a roach scurrying around towards my 5 yr old.”

• Very polite staff available even at 1:00 am.
• Stain on sheets, torn window dressings, dingy (yet clean) looking bathroom.

“You can't beat the economy at the Best Western Fairfax, and the friendly staff are always happy to accommodate your needs. The beds are comfortable and large, the pool is lovely, and there is a mini-fridge in each room. The biggest complaint I have about the hotel is that driving to it is quite a challenge. It's located near a main route, but the entrance is one street over, and exiting back to the main route involves cutting through traffic, going through one light, and quickly deciding where to turn at the second light which is only 50 feet (16 meters) away. So assuming you don't get into an accident pulling into or out of the hotel, the room is adequate, though a little shabby. Parking is convenient and spaces plentiful. The distance to the university is not far at all, but one definitely would need to drive or ride a bike to anywhere of interest.”

• Large room with desk and sofa.
• Extra charge for internet; front desk staff not too helpful, noise through the walls of room; covered parking would be nice.

“Clean, upscale accommodations with large room geared to the business traveler. Extra charges for some items that should be included at this price level (Wi-Fi). Convenient to stores, restaurants and I66. Safe location. Walls between rooms could use more soundproofing (for those that are light sleepers). Overall a nice place to stay.”

• Relative proximity to metro.
• Outdoor corridors.

“Older property, impeccably maintained, pleasantly decorated, safe, and family friendly. Good for business travelers (assuming a car), with wireless internet access and a small but sufficient exercise room. Outdoor corridors are a nuisance. Large outdoor pool opens in summer months. On site restaurant offers an adequate hot breakfast buffet at a surprisingly low price, but better options are available nearby for lunch and dinner. Located two miles from the Vienna Fairfax metro station.”

• Easy access to public transportation into D.C.
• The lounge was closed due to lack of liquor license.

“Every room has a mini-fridge and microwave (so no need to make special requests). The bus to the metro was right there at the hotel, or you could make the short drive to the metro yourself. Nice pool, secluded. Wireless internet. When I stayed there, the lounge was not yet open for business because they were still trying to obtain a liquor license.”

• Location, had to take bus or taxi to metro.

“The hotel seemed nice. Was clean and quiet, but they need a shuttle to the metro. We took a bus, that took 30 to 45 minutes when the hotel advertises 3 miles to the metro. Breakfast was very poor, looks like husband and wife team, who probably do not have green cards to be in this country. We were very disappointed with the breakfast buffet! The morning we left, I took a tick off my husbands back. It had not been on long. It's not fair to guess where it came from, but we were concerned it may have been from our room, leaving us with an uncomfortable feeling.”

• It was less expensive than the other hotels in the area. It was close to George mason unit. Where we were going to visit.
• It was not very clean. I felt like I was being bitten in the bed all night. The noise from the hallways outside was extremely loud.

“The people were nice and the hotel was conveniently located for our purposes (looking at George mason unit.), but not many restaurants close by or hard to find. The worse part was the bed sheets did not feel clean and whenever someone talked outside it was like they were in our room.”

• I liked the location and the friendly staff. I was clean and cozy.
• I like my hotels to be a little less stuffy in the room. It would help people that have allergies.

“Overall this hotel turned out to be a nice place to stay the staff was very friendly and helpful. The check in went pretty quick as well, which is important to me after a long day.”
