• Fabulous breakfast.
• Wallpaper in our bedroom had seen better days.

“Just back from wonderful few days in this grand old hotel. Wonderful attentive staff, marvelous breakfasts, crisp white linen etc. Our room was not ready on arrival so we were upgraded. Courtesy bus to private launch over to san Marco. What could be better?”

• Beautiful location.
• Customer service-treat all as guests not just those who "look" as if they can afford this type of hotel.

“There is no doubt that this is a beautiful hotel. However, customer service is not a concept that the employees were familiar with. First of all, my husband and I were treated as if we did not belong in this type of hotel. Apparently, we can afford it. Second, check in was at 2:00 yet our room was not ready until 6:00. No apologies were extended and when my husband spoke with the front desk about some kind of compensation (apology), he was scoffed at. We are fair and educated people who understand that sometimes things happen but a sincere regret for having us wait was not displayed in voice or action. Much can be learned about how to treat customers from the example of the U.S. Unfortunately my dream vacation became anything but.”
