  • The rooms with two beds had queens instead of doubles.
  • This hotel is shabby. It has nicked up paint, outdated decor in the rooms and the hallway carpet looks water damaged. The rooms don't have clocks.

“The hotel is in need of updating. It felt outdated and shabby due to things like nicked paint and a chipped bath tub. The carpeting in the hallway looked like it had had water damage. The room I stayed in was inconveniently arranged and it was the first room I can remember staying in that did not have a clock. The hotel is in quiet residential neighborhood that is not convenient to downtown attractions but offers nice options for taking a safe walk.”

  • Handy location, windows that opened.
  • Hall carpet needs replacing.

“Solid value in a plain wrapper. Great location, easy transit links.”

  • Near shopping mall - very convenient - quiet.
  • Not enough towels or toiletries provided/no ice except from front desk /no mini-fridge.

“Location OK .Relatively near everything by bus or metro. Rooms adequate but not big. Price gotten OK hotel not worth more.”

  • Te view and convenience to were we were going.
  • Prking fees are ridiculous, it needs renovating and the hallways smell like smokers.

“The bed
I was in had a metal rod sticking out of it and all they did was apologize. The building needs renovating and the rooms smell of deodorizers and the hallways have a smoking smell.”

  • It is clean and comfortable. Staff is friendly and helpful.
  • Ice machines and vending macines do not work. Bath towels could be larger and nicer quality.

“It was a nice stay. It suited our needs. And the price was good for the quality. Clean. Friendly staff.”

  • Convenient; Safeway right across the street.
  • On-site parking cost $20.

“It was nice, clean and convenient. Unfortunately, on-site parking was expensive, and the receptionist told us that there was no on-street parking, but we easily found a nearby, safe, free place to park on the street.”

  • I didn't like anything.
  • Bad location, rooms need maintenance, AC or heater was so loud, parking & internet are expensive.

“Do not stay here.”

  • The lobby was nice.
  • To park, one had to pay $20 or try to find parking in the street. There was none.

“The main lobby was nice and upscale. The hotel was split up into two areas. A newer tower and an old tower. We were sent to the old tower and told there was no room in the newer part. Our room was very old and ugly. We had to work our way through a maze of hallways to get there. The air-conditioning did not work and our room was 85 degrees the whole time. There was also a $20 fee for parking. Was very dissatisfied!”

  • Nothing.
  • Everything.

“Hotel is not in very good shape, old and worn carpets in hallways and rooms. Hotel is hard to get to as it is in middle of a construction area. Roads are all torn up around hotel.”

Cleanliness:[9] • Staff:[9] • Location:[10]

  • Price of the room.
  • Did not seem to have much control over A/C.

“Our room was in older part of hotel, so not so well appointed. But for the price it was good enough. We just slept there, visited family in the neighborhood so were only there at night. Did not eat there. Beds were very comfortable, good TV. Clean bathroom. Didn't hear neighbors.”

Cleanliness:[2] • Staff:[6] • Location:[2]

  • Cheapish.
  • Too far out of town and described as centre of town.

“Room was fairly gritty - the carpet was wet and it did not look all that clean. We were obviously in the cheap side of the hotel with a view of rooftops. The bathroom was ok. All the staff including cleaning staff on the floors was very friendly.”

Cleanliness:[9] • Staff:[9] • Location:[9]

  • Shuttle from airport.
  • No shuttle service to the small airport in the morning. I had to take a cab.

“Clean, nice room, clean bathroom. No continental breakfast setup for the early traveler.”

Cleanliness:[1] • Staff:[4] • Location:[1]

  • Air conditioned - the inside hallways were very hot, but the airconditioning worked well in the room.
  • Not down town - taxi to Vancouver about $10 each way. The room needed deep cleaning carpets dirty, dust in corners dirty in general.

“Poor quality for the $$. Older hotel that has not been kept up. Dirty carpets, stained walls, noisy room - would not return to this establishment. Costly to take cab into down town area - bus stop across the street but was inaccessible to road construction.”

Cleanliness:[1] • Staff:[5] • Location:[3]

  • Restaurant was fantastic.
  • Hotel bedding, room were among the dirtiest I have encountered in years.

“If you do not mind being miles from downtown, then this hotel is in a good area. Near City hall. Room was dirty, stained bedding, loud air conditioning, street noise loud. Hotel lobby nice, restaurant excellent, but rest of hotel very dated.”

Cleanliness:[8] • Staff:[5] • Location:[3]

  • Public spaces were nice.
  • NA.

“Location would be better if the mall across the street were open, but nothing else is in walking distance and I wouldn't recommend it for vacationers - too far from the city! View of the rooftop from our large room windows was not so great. Elevator was small and hallways were awkward.”

Cleanliness:[7] • Staff:[8] • Location:[9]

  • Large rooms.
  • Small dated bathrooms, Needs to be redecorated.

“The hotel lobby was nice enough, but the rooms needed to be redecorated and updated. There were little tears in our sheets and shower curtains and the bathroom was tiny. On the positive side, the location was great, and the room was really large.”

Cleanliness:[1] • Staff:[7] • Location:[3]

  • The young French speaking bell-man was very helpful and courteous.
  • Very overpriced. Not near anywhere you want to go.

“The room furniture was old style and old looking. The bathroom and room walls had mold. The hallway was not air-conditioned, the carpet was smelly.”

Cleanliness:[6] • Staff:[5] • Location:[7]

  • The rooms were very spacious.
  • They used the cheapest toilet paper.

“This is an older hotel, and a little out of the way of where we were looking.”
