“The only thing great about this hotel is the location. Right in the heart of Shinjuku, one of Tokyo's most vibrant and exciting neighborhoods, it is also convenient to mass transportation.”

“For the price of the room, the Shinjuku Prince was a great deal. It's right on top of the Seibu-Shinjuku train station, which means it's also in close walking distance to the JR/metro subway Shinjuku Station. Even in the hot summer weather, it's convenient since we can use the Sundae from its basement all the way to Shinjuku station underground. All of that said, it should be remembered that the Shinjuku Prince is not the same hotel as the Asakasa Prince. This hotel is right in Kabuki-chow! People inexperienced with Tokyo might not realize that Kabuki-chow is Tokyo's biggest red light district. Yes, there is night life, but it's also not the nicest area of Tokyo. The locals will not look in the direction of most Gaijin anyway, but its still something to consider when choosing your hotel (e.g. maybe it's not ideal for kids). If someone is looking for a real luxury experience, the Asakasa Prince is for them (and will accordingly cost more in addition to being in a less central location). Regardless, the Shinjuku Prince runs some very good deals for foreign visitors, so if you don't mind being in a slightly shady (but probably still plenty safe if you don't stray from the hotel area) part of Tokyo, it's not a bad place to stay. If you want something more high-end or family friendly, take a look at the Asakasa Prince instead. Another hotel to think about in the Shinjuku Prince's range is the Shibuya Tokyu Inn for plenty of night life, a central location and cheaper rates. Remember: All rooms in Tokyo are small (except at the amazing Tokyo Park Hotel!).”

“Hotel is clean; friendly staff; convenient location; easy access to public transportation, restaurants, and shopping areas; a good buy overall. P.S.: rooms are small for a family, though; no tips needed since the hotel charges room service fees/night.”
