• View, location.
• Uncomfortable beds.

“My husband and I stayed here as part of our honeymoon trip to Italy. What a disappointment. The location is beautiful and the hotel and property are clean and very well kept. The rooms are not very comfortable. The beds are hard as rocks and the a/c doesn¿t function until June. Keeping thee window open at night was the only way to keep cool, but noise from the road below kept us awake at night. The restaurant is fair to poor. The food was not what we expected. One dish we ordered, steak filet with butter sauce was nothing more than a grilled steak with a cold slab of herbed butter on top. It had not melted by the time I finished my steak. The staff was very friendly and when we mentioned we were on our honeymoon, a bottle of champagne was sent up to our room. The shuttle is convenient, except if you miss the last one. It's about a $25 taxi ride up the hill. There is a footpath, but it's a rather steep hill. This hotel seemed to be more for an older crowd, since most were retirees.”

• The view of the sea from the poolside terrace was spectacular.
• The restaurant was disappointing overpriced and awful food. Ordered eggs, sausage and O.J. and got powdered eggs, hot dogs and Tang! Unbelievable.

“One of the most appealing aspects of this hotel (apart from the poolside view) was that it offered a free shuttle into Sorrento town center (15 min) several times a day. Since it is located hillside, it was necessary to travel into the town center for everything. We traveled with 4 children and saw only a handful of other children at the hotel - mostly older couples and business travelers. Though the manager was quite friendly, the desk staff were not necessarily (but this may have been more a function of the culture) Rooms were O.K. - clean and spacious enough (by European standards) but there is not one stitch of carpeting in the place thus nothing to absorb sound - that, the fact that it was located on a busy road and the very uncomfortable beds made sleeping soundly a bit of a challenge!”

• Reception staff helpful and charming. Room fully equipped didn't need toiletries. Beautiful view.
• A lot of extra charges, eg fresh fruit extra at breakfast.

“Would have been nice to know the extreme hilltop location with regard to the 12 minute walk to town - on the way down but on the way up with a full stomach if you missed the courtesy bus WOW !!
The walk down needs to be experienced to be believed - amazi”
