• I loved the service at the Spa.
• No hot water, construction pounding in room above us woke us up, slow valet.

“Very disappointed. No hot water for showers on first day. Boiler problem they said. We were awakened the next morning by drills and hammering in the room above us. The front desk stated the construction was not theirs but it obviously was. The poolside service was bad. We did not get the food we ordered and it was slow.”

• The people, the location, the facilities and the beach surrounding.
• Extremely expensive. 4 breakfasts in excess of charge.

“Hotel is at the front of the San Juan area. Surrounded by Beaches and the San Geronimo fort. Spectacular views all around. The employees are friendly and courteous. The rooms are good in size with 2 Queen Beds. My room had a view to the ocean and during the morning I would drink my coffee in the balcony with that ocean view. Many restaurants to select, but a little step in price. The pool area is wonderful with bars and a Snack Bar. There is a kiddies park and access to the Escanbron Beach. The tropical garden was nice and romantic. Areas to improve:- Costs for food and drinks on premises. Snacks at the rooms or snack machine per floor. Better facilities for kids (video machines). Improve parking area. A must.”

• The various things you could do within hotel grounds.
• Construction around hotel, not impressed with spa (overpriced).

“The hotel Caribe Hilton was beautiful and pretty self-contained. A great feel of privacy in hotel. Private beach which was great for snorkeling, swimming and watching local fish swim by.”

• Price, location, they left the AC on when I was not there.
• Prices of food and drink, construction in parking garage.

• The beach.
• Sightseeing areas not close enough.

“Everything is as expected from a hotel with the Hilton name. The only down side was that if I wanted to go to Old San Juan at night I would need to take a cab, I would have enjoyed a walk.”

• Valet parking horrible, really bad experience.

“Hotel overall great. I rented a very inexpensive car due to gas prices and upon my arrival, the valet did not reach out to me to give me service, I have to get out and ask him, as he thought I could not afford the hotel, really bad experience, but somehow expected from Puerto Rico. Did not have that at the Sheraton that was absolutely perfect!”

• The concierge was fabulous.
• Room requests took a little too long.

“The amenities were nice. The pool area and ocean overlook was excellent. The service staff was fantastic, professional and friendly. Cab fare to Viejo San Juan at $15.00 each way, take the bus - 50 cents.”

• Beautiful private beach, great pools with swim up bar, and really enjoyed the pier where you can feed fish.

“My husband and I really enjoyed our stay at the Hilton Caribe! The private beach was beautiful and never crowded. The water is so clear! We loved (as did many of the families staying at the resort) the fish feeding pier. The rooms were great (there is even a clothes line in the shower to hang all of your wet beach clothes) and the staff very friendly and helpful. The Hilton Caribe exceeded our expectations!”

• The beach and pool facilities were beautiful and convenient.
• Too expensive in the middle of no where.

“Very beautiful space and grounds. Staff was friendly. The only issue is that it is so far from anything and everything at the hotel itself (food and cabs) was really expensive, making it hard to stick to our budget.”

• Stunning grounds right on the ocean. Pool open late.
• I was stuck in an economy room with a view of the dumpsters.

“This is an incredible hotel resort. The staff is attentive, the hotel is beautiful, the grounds are stunning.”

• The beach and pool were great.
• Extra fees we were not aware of like "resort fees".

“Great location with a perfect beach. Staff was slow to respond to requests. Our room smelled a little. Breakfast buffet was 23 dollars per person.”

• The beach was close.
• Extremely expensive restaurants. Only a Subway restaurant near by.

“The hotel and grounds are beautiful. We had to walk to get to a Subway for lunch and dinner. There was no other reasonably priced place to eat that was close. Hotel restaurants prices were absurdly high. There were 4 - 5 hotel restaurants and they were empty for that reason. We stayed in the Tower. Huge walk in shower with 2 shower heads. Huge bathroom.”

• Views, grounds, shops, and food at restaurants.
• Staff distant, not helpful, and hotel tend to hide fees at times (charity, etc.).

“Nice views, grounds, and nice shops at hotel. Staff a little distant - not friendly. Hidden fee each day for children's charity - was noted as optional, however, it was automatically added to your bill! Watch out for that one. Overall, would recommend. Ask questions and be aware of potential hidden fees and taxi over charges. Restaurants on site are extremely pricey, so take note. Food is great, however. Checking in is lengthy, too. Hotel needs to improve that situation.”

• Beach front classy hotel. Whats not to like?
• Maybe a $30 sandwich is a bit too much.

“Aside from not being walking distance from the shopping district or the $20 cab ride you need to take to party at night on Isla Verde, this hotel is definitely a must for those who want a nice resort like stay. Great for family or business trips. For those of you who are into the club scene and enjoy more of a night life, stay at the San Juan Hotel & Casino.”

• Rooms are old and run down.

“Upon check in, had to wait an hour for the hotel staff to open safe deposit box. It took 45 minutes for someone to show up at the room and then 15 minutes more for him to get the right tool. Room is old and outdated. Furniture is falling apart.”

• The grounds and facilities are beautiful.
• The restaurants are very pricey.

“Very nice resort with expansive and beautiful grounds. We received rooms in a subsection of the hotel that was apparently used for timeshares or condos. The room was very spacious, with a shared terrace. All food options at the hotel were fairly expensive, and there were really no other options in easy walking distance.”
