  • Their website says that breakfast is included in the price. When we checked out, we were charged 50 Euro ($70) for the breakfast.

“Totally unexpected. Other than that, it was a great hotel.”

  • Location
  • Terrible - Torn sheets, frayed dirty carpeting, broken bathroom fixtures, unhelpful lying staff.

“The hotel is located in a nice neighborhood about 10 minutes walk from Ottaviano / Vatican. Apart from that there isn't much to recommend - the sheets were torn (though clean), carpets were badly worn out and dirty (looked several decades old), there wasn't a restaurant in the hotel, though there was breakfast at the bar - which we were told was not included in our room rate, they tried to get us to move to a cheaper hotel about 2 blocks away by lying to us.”

  • The decor was very nice.
  • Move from one hotel to another for two nights and then back for night three which was most inconvenient and a waste of precious time in Rome.

“Adequate moderate hotel with pleasant decor.”

  • The room was extremely pleasant.
  • The public spaces are below grade and windowless so not pleasant places to wait for or meet friendss.

“The staff is extremely reliable. The breakfast was not great but one can always eat fruit and yogurt.”

  • Location.
  • Horrible shower, broken TV, small rooms.

“Very good location but bad accommodations.”

  • Very close to the Vatican. Free shuttle pick up from airport was added bonus.

“Wonderful ambiance in hotel located 5 minutes from the Vatican. Would definitely come back to this hotel.”

  • Great staff and location.

“Very spacious room and bathroom. Very helpful staff and great location.”

  • Close to the Vatican and San Angelo.
  • No shower curtain, jacuzzi tub broken.

“This hotel is marketed as a 4 star, but in my estimation, it is more like a 2 or 2.5 star. Our King bed was two old, worn-out, twin beds pushed together, which made my back and hips hurt. Internet usage on an old crappy computer in the lobby cost too much. Disappointed with it, overall.”

  • Staff was rude. The room had dingy carpet and was old and needed renovation. The bathroom sink did not work.

“The lobby and common area of the hotel was nice. The actually room was dingy and needed updating. The staff was rude and not helpful at all.”

  • Close to the Vatican
  • Door knob fell off the room door from the outside, had to fix it ourselves to get in the room.

“The Hotel is typical for Europe, smaller rooms and only one very small elevator. The staff at the front desk spoke very good English and was very polite and helpful. I would not classify as a four star hotel, but it wasn't bad and close to the Vatican and other local points of interest. $50.00 Eurom for a ride to FCO airport.”

  • Good Location, good breakfast.
  • Old carpet.

“Clean, good location, but not quite 4 stars, more like 3 or 3 1/2 stars.”

  • Excellent location, very friendly and helpful staff, satellite TV with English
  • Bed was 2 twins pushed together.

“Very tasteful, clean and elegant hotel. Excellent location. The staff was very friendly and English was spoken by most of the staff. Breakfast was excellent and great coffee. They have wifi available but do charge. Satellite TV was available with many English channels. Only big negative was that the bed was two twins pushed together. Therefore cramping a romantic getaway a bit.”

  • The breakfast/restaurant room view was stunning.
  • Was a little cramped and looked out on an unattractive alley

“Generally good.”

  • Wake up calls aren't wake up calls, at the most the phone rings only once so you will most likely not even know you were called.

“This hotel was very nice to stay in, the beds were comfortable and the amenities were nice. However, this hotel was very nice for the short amount of time I stayed there. I would recommend this hotel because of its appearance, cleanliness, comfort as well as its closeness to the Vatican and also walking distance to the Metro.”

  • No central heading and heater provided did not even heat a corner of the room. Awful, old beds with broken springs.

“This by far was the worst value for money. This hotel was terrible and I felt shortchanged. Beds were awful and the mattress was extremely bad with broken springs. Extremely uncomfortable and I am not at all a finicky person. There was no heating in the room. A small heater was provided which did not even warm up one corner of the room.”

  • Very friendly and helpful, great airport shuttle and wonderful breakfast.
  • The bed was sunken in the middle, hard pillows and difficult to use shower/tub. TV was too small.

“Quaint hotel located within walking distance of the Vatican. Features an airport shuttle from the airport to the hotel. There is a great breakfast buffet available in the morning. The service was quite good and very clean rooms.”

  • The staff was excellent and the room was clean.
  • The room was too small for our needs.

“We stayed at this hotel for one night only so that met our needs since we just needed somewhere to sleep for the night. We probably would not have stayed there if it were for a longer time although the staff was friendly and the room was very clean.”

Cleanliness:[5] • Staff:[2] • Location:[8]

  • Location to the Vatican was excellent.
  • They did not have a power converter for US products. The staff was not knowledgeable and the lift was broken.

“When I first arrived at the hotel I thought it was nice. But as time went on things started to deteriorate. I was unable to plug in my laptop. they had no power converter. Thus I could not charge my video camera either. They sold me internet time for my laptop that became useless. I had to pay again to use their computer. They had one terminal with a printer. Yet the printer did not work. The Jacuzzi/bath tub appeared as if it was falling apart. The air conditioning was moderately working. The staff was not knowledgeable. The breakfast that they provide was ok but when I tried to take some with me I was admonished and embarrassed by the staff. They should have simply had a sign stating food to be eaten in the room. The only good thing was the location was excellent and only 2 blocks from the Vatican.”

Cleanliness:[8] • Staff:[8] • Location:[8]

  • Free breakfast was quite good.
  • Room was small. Had to hold on to showerhead.

“This hotel is okay, but I don't think it is European 4 star. Public bathrooms are bad. Lobby in basement. One computer for internet. Room was super small even for European standard. It was clean however. No safe in room. Breakfast was good.”
