“Does not deserve a 4 * rates. Needs updating. The carpet was stained and the room was dirty. I asked for a room change since I was staying 7 nights and was given a somewhat nicer room but it just does not meet 4* standards.”

“A great location close to many attractions shopping dining and nightlife. Direct connections to and from the airport to the hotel via the metro system.”

“Stayed with my sister for 3 day sin late January. The location was perfect for January Sales (shopping), walks along the river and visit to museums. The room and facilities were American style (large, comfortable and clean)”

“The hotel is in a very convenient location to major sites in Paris. Both train and Metro access is right out the front door. Great restaurants and shopping very near. Our room was neat, clean and larger than expected. Staff was helpful, spoke English and friendly. I would definitely stay here again on my next trip.”

“For a short stay, it was very tidy and comfortable. First time in Paris, so was within easy reach to most of the central attractions. Good restaurants nearby.”

“Great location -- be aware that you can't get twin beds; only a double bed and a sofa bed. Decor is a mixture of modern design and dated furniture.”

“We were staying in the hotel for one night. The location was perfect, lots of restaurants, next to the Metro and RER stations.”

“Superb location for Subway access, walking distance to the Louver, River Seine, Notre Dame and good restaurants. Definitely met our expectations for location and price.”

“Although the hotel decor was rather odd (purple, highly utilitarian hallways, ultra-modern bathrooms but the shower door leaked, stucco walls in the toilet), the rooms were spacious. There were no two bed rooms available, only a king with an uncomfortable fold out couch. The reception desk was understaffed and the elevators inadequate. However, the windows opened out to the fresh air and an interesting view and the location was right in the middle of Paris, walking distance to the Louver, Notre Dame, Musee d'Orsay, Beau Bourg, Latin Quarter, the entrance to the Metro and Rer. The location redeemed any shortcomings of the hotel structure itself.”

“Novotel was not responsive at all. The air conditioning did not work properly and they did not switch my room out. In fact, they did not offer a fan. I had to request it on my own which they asked me to pick it up rather than deliver it. I had problems checking in before 3 pm at both The Novotel and The Marriott.”

“The lobby looked fine but once we arrived our floor, we noticed that the hallway was old and dirty. However, we do not care about hallways. The main problem was the carpeted floor in our room. The carpeted floor was extremely dirty. There were several water leaks from bathroom. This was very visible. This could have been minimized, if they steam vacuumed the floor but it looks like the hotel did not do anything about it. We were informed that other rooms have similar condition. We could not take our shoes off and we were still uncomfortable even with our shoes on, because it was so disgustingly dirty. Hotel staffs were not rude but they were not helpful. We asked several staffs regarding the area but they were not knowledgeable and did not even try to find best answers to our questions. At one point, I asked one of the staffs to show me a location of a restaurant but he refused by saying that I should come back tomorrow morning and ask another staff to do it for us. (It was late at night and they were not busy.) There were always long lines so you have to be online at least for 10 minutes to ask simple question, unless it is late at night. They have 3 very small elevators and 2 of them were not working most of the time. When we checked out, 2 elevators were working but they were full of people. We waited over 30 minutes and the elevators arrived about 15 times but we were still not able to take them. We had to use stairs with heavy bags and it turned out that we were not the only ones!”

“Novotel has sleek, clean and consistent rooms that are surprisingly large and comfortable for central Paris. The staff went out of their way to make us comfortable. The location is hard to beat.”

“The hotel is conveniently located within walking distance of many attractions and Metro stations. Although is not a luxury hotel, it is kept in good condition. The only inconvenience was that only one of three elevators was working most of the time. The room was clean and comfortable.” Amenities at Novotel Paris Les Halles, Paris
