Its charm, personality and cosmopolitan ambiance delight those people who avoid staying in larger, more standardized and impersonal hotels. From the hotel's terrace, you can enjoy a panoramic view of the city, which is nestled in a valley and surrounded by the Sierra Madre mountains. Each of its 23 rooms, all gracefully decorated in warm colors, has all modern amenities. The hotel is only a few minutes' walk from the magnificent Santo Domingo Convent on the charming walking street, Macedonio Alcala and only a few blocks to the Zscalo, a cheery meeting place for both Oaxacans and international travelers.[less]

Hotel Aitana was very quiet, no street noise as our room was back from the street. Nice managers. Free internet. Pretty courtyard. Nice rooftop!
It would have been nice to be closer to the Zocalo, but we could walk or take a cheap taxi. And it was so quiet.
“Great hotel! Clean and so quiet. Free internet in the patio. Good breakfast included in the nice courtyard. Nice rooftop garden. The managers spoke English and Spanish and were very helpful. They loaned us huge unbrellas when there was rain. Rooms were basic, but very clean. TV. No AC needed. Internet was free and handy in the courtyard. Good hairdryers and plenty of hot water. You can walk or take a taxi to the Zocalo.”
