  • Hotel was superbly maintained and clean.
  • Lack of air conditioning.

“Hotel is keept in a shiny and new condition. It is located directly across the street from the Old Trafford Football Stadium, the home of the Manchester United Football Club. There is a generous amount of parking and a superbly accommodating staff.Public transport to the hotel is via Busses 250, 291 and 294.”

  • The rooms contained everything that you needed. Was impressed to have extras like an iron and a stereo.

“The hotel rooms were clean and contained all the essentials that you would need, and more. Would maybe have liked a clearer idea of how far away from the centre the hotel was, with information about travelling times and the cost of a taxi. A shame breakfast wasn't included.”

  • clean well presented
  • asked for a twin room and ended up with a double, although we had a sofa bed this was uncomfortable and the spare duvet had no coverand was dirty. no hair dryer at '75 per night these are things i expect.

“about facilities provided. Did expect to get what we paid for, i also think that '75 was a bit extreme to not include breakfast within the price.”

  • convenient location
  • very expensive for rateing

“it suited the purpose - good location for event, but '35-00 P/N
when no soccer and '130-00 on soccer nights smacks of extortion
otherwise the hotel was pleasant enough.”

  • the cd player in the room. room service was good.
  • the fact the mini bar fridge was empty

“the hotel was good, and very convenient for our visit to Old Trafford. the only thing we weren't too keen on was the fact that our check in took quite a while as there was only one member of staff on the desk. similarly, the bar was very busy, and there were only two staff on, it took us about 10 minutes to be served.”

  • Room well equipped, good restaurant (WatersReach) adjacent
  • Mini-bar empty

“I have used the hotel several times for business so was aware of the good points noted above. The same points which influenced me to stay at the hotel for a leisure break.”

“opposit Old Trafford Stadium; near busstop; very fast check-in and -out; 20 minutes by bus to Piccadilly Gardens and 15 minutes to Trafford Center (Shopping Center);
Lots of free newspapers at the hotel lounge;

the only way to save money is online-reservation!!! usual price is 99 GBP, on matchdays (ManUtd, England, Rugby-Finals) is about 115 GBP. Online-Offer was 77 GBP (Double).
Breakfast is very expensive but highest quality!! Next to the Hotel there's a pub where you can have cheaper breakfast.

On matchdays the busstop and lots of roads around the Golden Tulip Hotel and Old Trafford Stadium are closed!!!”

  • Location of hotel and accomodation was very good
  • There was a problem with the toilet continually flushing, this was reported to reception but no one came to fix it.

“We thought the price of the room was reasonable,
but the breakfast was expense at '12 per person”

  • Staff helpful and friendly-rooms comfortable and clean-easy access and parking - value for money
  • none

“We particularly chose this hotel due to it's location - opposite the North Stand of MUFC - also the fact that easy access to Trafford Centre and other sites of interest - on arriving we were immediately impressed with the look of the hotel and its staff were very good - we knew exactly what to expect from the Active Hotel site so no surprises with this hotel - Only comment was that majority of hotels include bed and breakfast in the cost but this one did not but we were aware of that before we booked so made alternative arrangements.”

  • Ample Parking, superb restaurant food and friendly staff

“One of the best 'business' hotels I've stayed in. The quality of the food in the restaurant is superb. The hotel is quite easy to find and sits opposite the North and East stands of Old Trafford for you Man Utd fans!

I will definately continue to use this hotel while on business in the area.”

Cleanliness:[10] • Staff:[8] •

  • Excellent breakfast, tidy, clean room. Quiet. All requirements for overnight stay met
  • Slow check in and unable to initially locate key for room, but staff were friendly and sorted out situation eventually

“Was not aware of close proximity of Manchester United Football Ground. As we were visiting the site with our son, it would have been nice to have been able to book a room with a view.
The family room could have been a little larger, but it was satifactory.
Overall though we were very impressed with the quality of the hotel, the staff and the price of our over night stay.
Needed taxi on night of arrival to eat out as we chose to not eat in hotel.”

  • Speedy check in and out. Parking spaces good

“I only stayed one night but have stayed with you previously when going to the football. Check in and rooms are exceelent. The bar area lets it down a little. I found it distracting to have a 11 or 12 year old boy running up and down the bar area playing football!”

  • Parking is good. Had I known I would not have come on the train.
  • No minibar in room as advertised. Hotel bar was closed although adjoining restaurant was open.

“Just needed somewhere to crash in between days four and five of the test match at old trafford.

Golden Tulip was ideal. Would use it again.”
