• Excellent location and value for money.
• Very worn and dated.

“We paid £75 for a family room for one night. I had read the hotel information carefully so knew there was a risk we might have a room with no window and realized there would be a charge to use the pool. For central Manchester the price was cheap enough so we took a chance. The hotel is very worn and tatty, it probably hasn't been decorated since about 1986! However, we found the staff helpful and friendly and the reception desk was well-manned. Our room did have a window and a fridge which was useful and the beds for the children were a good size. This is not the type of hotel you should go to for a special occasion (or if you will be very put off by the smell of stale cigarettes!). BUT, the hotel is very good value for money and the location is fantastic. Weigh up the negatives against the cost and book if value for money and location are your most important criteria.

• Very old decor, tatty and worn out in places.

“This hotel is perfect if you want value for money in a very central location. However, the hotel probably hasn't been decorated since 1986 so it's a bit tatty and worn around the edges. The staff are good and the location is brilliant so don't be put off, but don't expect 4*.”
