“We had our first trip to Egypt in December 2004. We picked Luxor and the Mercure Inn because it was central. You couldn't be more so, straight out of the hotel grounds and you are directly opposite Luxor Temple. My husband did not want to go, but on returning home, he can't wait to go again and we will do so next year. The hotel was very clean, friendly and central. It had a lovely small swimming pool with pool bar and snack bar and a 'reading corner' surrounded by hedging with cane chairs and tables. Just out of the hotel grounds, straight opposite, is Luxor Temple and all the taxis and caleshes you want. Turn right and you are two minutes walk from the Nile and the promenade. It was really a wonderful holiday and I would urge anyone to try it. It is small compared with most hotels in Luxor, only 89 rooms, but for that it is a more personal experience. Oh! and the breakfasts were great too.”
