“The location is average (not excellent, quite a way from the underground), the rooms are small and the carpeting could do with a cleaning.”

“This is moderate business hotel by European standards, with reasonably-sized double room of modern and functional design with spacious bathroom. Location 5-10 minutes walks from southward station on jubilee underground line. Bus which runs to Covent garden stops at front door. Backside area interesting and seems to be in transition as of late 2006.”

“The hotel was very clean and located in an area which has a great outdoor market and is tube accessible. They allowed me to check in at 9am with no additional charge. The rooms were good sized and the bathrooms were very modern. The bed consisted of two twin mattresses pushed together to make a queen sized bed. It was very uncomfortable. The room was also below ground with only the top part of the window above ground. Internet access was very expensive at 15 euros per 24 hour period.”

“The hotel was very reasonable, clean and pleasant, The staff was extremely helpful with our questions and with some difficulties regarding theater tickets. Our room even included an iron and ironing board. We only used the hotel restaurant once, but the dinner was delicious.”

“This hotel is very new, with very nice rooms and facilities. The staff were also extremely friendly and courteous. It is located very conveniently to the Tate Modern and the Millennium Bridge. However the closest tube stop, Southward, is a good walk away, and the area becomes somewhat empty at night.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.

“Reasonably good price ($100/night) in London which is actually saying a lot for London. No breakfast included but available for 13.50 BP's (approximately. $25 US) ouch. So just take the room and don't touch courtesy tray. Ice was free in the bar.”

“All in all I enjoyed my stay at the Mercury London Bankside. Although it is far away from some of the main attractions, it is located right on a bus line that is very convenient. The rooms were nice and the staff was friendly, although I think English was a second language for all of them.”

“Located in an up and coming neighborhood of South London the Mercury is ideal for a person not intending to spend much time in the hotel. The Staff were limited in their knowledge of the area and ability to assist in making plans. There was no concierge access to the internet or someone to help with information. Some directions given by staff for the neighborhood were wrong. Tate Modern, London Bridge and Thames River all within a short walk. Bus stop located in front of Hotel that will take you to tube as well as Covent Garden.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.
