Renovations and Closures

04 June 2004 to 03 September 2004 - Guest Rooms in the Main Building will be renovated
* All work will take place between the hours of 9am and 5pm
* Guests will not be assigned rooms on floors that are being refurbished
* The hotels restaurants, swimming pool and gym are open as usual
* Guest Rooms in the Tower section will not be affected

Gymnasium Closure for upgrading from July 19, 2004 to August 15, 2004

We would like to advise you that we shall be upgrading our gymnasium this summer, when the floor will be replaced and new equipment installed.

To facilitate this renovation, the gymnasium will be closed from July 19, 2004 to August 15, 2004 inclusive. During the closure period, alternative arrangements will be made outside the hotel in order that you can continue your workout programme. Lovely central 5 star hotel.
Service sometimes slack - but if complaint made things always fixed.

“This hotel is lovely and a true landmark, but I must say I was surprised at the service level - in their defense every time they did not meet my expectations they fixed things always with an apology and a call from the Duty Manager. E.G. Did not always come for the turn down service, room roughly cleaned at times, 2 staff members exceptionally rude. I stayed with my Husband for 6 nights in a harbor view room. The view was spectacular, the room elegant. Location outstanding - close to everything including our tailor. The restaurants in the hotel are great but high priced as in any hotel. The lobby is always too busy at high tea time which can be annoying. Overall, I would stay again if visiting Hong Kong. ”

“My daughter and I visited the Peninsula Hotel for their Afternoon Tea

held in the ground floor area in the first week of May. My Mother's Day treat. Many first class hotels in major cities serve Afternoon Tea. The Peninsula does it perfectly and the selection of cakes and sandwiches is excellent and also the variety of tea available is also very good. Silver service of the best quality is used.

The service was excellent and the staff very friendly. The music trio

played a light selection of music which enhanced the mood very well.

The price is very reasonable indeed. I enjoyed it very much and would recommend it as a”
