“We visited grand lido, brace this first week in may 2007. Our garden room was moldy, smelled like a science experiment gone bad, bathroom with stains, shower that rarely had hot water, and broken bathroom toilet and sink. Ants all over. Bird feces on our bed pillow. The beach is rocky and littered. We could not swim in the ocean due to sharp objects under the water cutting our feet. A staff member dumped a beer on a guest because he wasn't drinking fast enough. Locals try to sell pot. Theft is common on the grounds (and covered up). Complaints were taken to the management (the problem) and were ignored. The food was and drinks were great. Everything else reminded me of motel 6.not a five star resort we paid for!”

“We just spent one week at grand lido for my daughter dream wedding. It was mostly a nightmare! Our room was musty and had a foul odor. Mold in the bathroom, yellowish blobs of unmentionables by the toilet on the floor. The flusher did not work on the toilet- sink faucet broken. Our party booked 8 rooms- 3 did not have working air conditioners and we were not allowed to exchange rooms. Tried opening the balcony windows- got eaten alive by mosquitoes. Not enough towels on beach, by the pool or in the rooms. Many resort activates were cancelled. We tried to play golf at 4pm and they were closed. Water sports in a very small lagoon that had 3 resort boats docked in it- leaving little room to kayak, pedal boat or wind sail. The "club house" eatery had staff hanging out taking up guest seating. Two staff members go into a scuffle. A local tried to sell us pot. Bar maid solicited money for her son's filed trip at school. She told a guest if he didn't drink faster she would dump his drink on him. She did. The wedding coordinator was great. Beach photos were spoiled by the debris (rocks, bricks dead vegetation). The last night we were there; the bed pillows had bird feces on them. Save your dream wedding for elsewhere! The rooms are cleaner and staff less intimidating at motel 6!”

“Great staff. Wonderful resort for those wishing to simply "unplug" for a few days. Everything is very laid back and calm at the resort. This was our second year going. Our only complaint is that the management would not give us the hurricane or sunshine guarentee even though we were at the resort for Hurricane Emily. Despite the warnings, bad weather, and most of the resort closing down, they said a hurricane didn't happen. They lost good customers.”
