“This hotel is in desperate need of complete renovation. The carpet is so badly worn you cannot tell what color it used to be, nor what pattern it had. Additionally, I had ants in my room-all over every counter surface. The paint was peeling in sheets off the wall. The hotel's website describes this hotel as a "four star" but I would not give it more than 1.”

“Good location for tourist. Ask for the ocean view and the updated rooms when checking in. Very large room with two double beds, great for families. Bar fridge in room, and table and chairs for breakfast eating. Three star not four. Free underground parking.”

“My husband and I had a fabulous time. The staff at this hotel goes out of their way to make sure you have a great time. Our room was fantastic with a delicious view of the Ocean. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who stays in Cairns. Excellent. Thank you!”

“This was one of the dirtiest hotels I have stayed in, which was a huge disappointment. The paint on the walls and ceiling was dirty and chipping. The carpets were worn and soiled. The bedding was old and stained. We had plans to stay in this hotel for a few nights. However, after checking in we immediately decided to check out the next morning to find something better. There are good hotels in Cairns--this is not one of them.”

“Generally the hotel's room accommodations were old. The bathrooms were great; they looked like they were new. The beds, pillows, and bedding looked like they have been over used and very worn out. This is very important to us, since the prime thing we do in the hotel is sleep. Hotel lobby was okay (clean but old furniture). They ran an hourly shuttle between the hotel and the Cairns CBD (about 7 minutes), which made it convenient despite its distance from the CBD area (30 minute walk). The lobby staff was so great - extremely friendly, attentive, helpful, accommodating, and a genuine pleasure to be around.”

“All in all, we were happy with our room, excepting the musty smoky smell. The furniture looked a little worn but the bathroom was nicely updated, for a clean, fresh, modern look. A hand-held shower fixture would have been a welcome touch at this and many of the other hotels we frequented during our Australia-New Zealand vacation. I felt this hotel was a good deal for the money and would not hesitate to recommend it to friends and family.” Hotel Representatives:
