  • The bathroom was modern and clean, the breakfast was nice and the staff in the restaurant were very friendly, the reception staff were polite and the lounge facing the sea was very nice.
  • We were dissapointed with our room as it was smokey and dusty. The parking could be a problem, but if you arrive after 6pm and you are lucky, you could find a spot just in front of the Hotel (between 6pm and 9am parking is free). But this seems to be a pr

“Overall staying at the hotel was a pleasant experience. It was just a shame that we were given a smoker's room when we had requested non-smoking accomodation. Also, a room with a sea view would have been really nice as the hotel is literally in front of t”

  • lack of trained staff for busy weekend / staff working overtime poor performace.

“Hotel very well located, interesting optional jacuzzi bath but the continental twin beds, no room service after 9pm or breakfest in the room and a nightclub in the hotel didnt quite meet our expectations.”

  • The jackusi was enjoyed by all
  • The window was very small and onto a wall, was very hot with inadequate ventilation/airconditioning

“Room 422 should be avoided. The room the children had was good. Hotel has good, convenient location with friendly but insufficient checking-in staff.”

  • Spacious rooms
  • Basil Fawlty at Breakfast

“Our stay at the hotel was going well until we had the misfortune to encounter a Basil Fawlty impersonator (but Scottish version) parading himself as the restaurant manager at breakfast. This extremely rude man succeeded in persuading all members of our group never to set foot in the hotel again.”

  • Friendly staff and efficiency
  • The food provided as room service could have been a little better.

“The two nights we stayed we very enjoyable. everything was carried out with such simplicity, no complications. However, a bottle of water i paid for at the bar cost me '3.80. A bit expensive!”

“Staff were very friendly. Double room was nice, clean & spacious. The bed was very comfortable. Lots of pubs and retuarants nearby to choose from. Also hotel is right opposite the brighton pier. A very pleasant stay.”

“The hotel was very clean and impressive, the room was large and had a great jaccuzi bath. There was a verranda which looked out over the Pier and gave a great view of the seafront. I was very close to all the shops and restaurants making it ideal. The breakfast was hot and tasty (unlike some hotels I have satyed in!)
Loved it!!!”

  • The location was excellent centre and right at the front of the pier for easy reference late at night
  • The rooms were very basic for the price and the lack of parking could be a major problem/ additional expense, but this seems true for all the hotels in the area

“Our stay was very comfortable we didn't spend a great deal of time in the hotel but breakfast was excellent and the bar was open until 5.00am so our needs were well catered for.”

  • The view
  • We booked double, sea view with jacuzzi. First room no jacuzzi; second room small, poky & broken jacuzzi; third room adequate with working jacuzzi

“As written before, we moved 3 times before getting the correct type of room. The staff were helpful but we were not given a key for the final room and on returning home from our evening out could not remember the no. of our room ( we had moved so many times in a hurry). Finally at approx. 1.45 we found our room ( the desk clerk had us still booked in the original incorrect room). We wanted breakfast in our room but could not have because it was a weekend. We could not open our windows more than 5 inches. No mini bar !!”

  • Good clean accommodation. Good 'hearty' traditional breakfast. Jacuzzi bath worth the '10 extra.
  • 'Air-conditioning' / water-heater in ceiling of room (509) was a little noisy at times.

“Good hotel in ideal position at the end of the Palace Pier. Efficient, friendly, helpful staff. Entrance Security was reassuring when returning late on the Saturday night. Would certainly consider this hotel on any future visit to Brighton.”

  • convenient for travelling by coach as situated by Pool Valley, breakfast and evening meal were very good.
  • We were on two of our visits located in very noisy areas, but were moved to a quieter room with no problem, now I'm over 21 i need my sleep at night.

“Overal i have been very pleased with my visits, unfortunately my brother has been suffering from cancer over the past year, hence my frequent visits this year, your staff have been very kind and helpful, especially in the restaurant My brother died on the 22nd October,so i hope next year to return in happier times. The hotel was what I expected. You cannot be respnsible for the behaviour of your guests nor the outdoor shows late at night.”
