• I was impressed with the location of the hotel it was near everything.

“My fiance and I went there for 4 days. Firstly, it was in the most perfect location. Literally a minutes walk from the station. The check-in was easy, staff friendly and the room was great. It was clean, fairly contemporary and we had a great view over the station and the main roads. Drinks at the bar were a little pricey, but then most drinks at hotels are. Dining room was lovely and food was nice though didn't eat there all that much to be honest. We wanted to go out and experience the city. We were close to all the main tourist sights, and everything was walking distance, besides the Van Goch Museum and Rijksmuseum which are a tram ride away. Also, round the corner from the famous Grasshopper Pub, a "brown cafe" with a great vibe, and fairly decent food. If you are there for at least 3 days, I would recommend getting the I love Amsterdam Card. For those who love pasta and pizza, there is a fantastic little Italian restaurant just around the corner to the right of the hotel. Brilliant food, atmosphere and service. Would definitely go back there.”

• Very convenient and centrally located. Close to train station. Staff very friendly and English savvy.
• A bit pricey for the time of year. Non-smoking rooms as far from front door as possible.

“The hotel is within easy walking distance of Amsterdam's central train station. The staff are friendly and helpful as well as having excellent English skills. They have non-smoking rooms but they are quite a hoof from the front of the hotel. The restaurant has a limited menu but the food is good. The hotel is in the middle of a shopping district with plenty of restaurants and cafes close by.”

• Close to train station, canals, tourist areas.
• No a/c, street noise, price.

“General conditions were acceptable, price was a little high, the hotel is in a very high traffic area and noise can be problem if you open your windows (no a/c). To obtain a King bed we had to up grade for 30 Euro additional per night.”

• Close to train, first class hotel.
• Surrounding areas were of less quality than the hotel, breakfast not included.

“Beautiful hotel which is ideally located if you're taking a train or water taxi. Surrounding neighborhood is OK, but not in the "better" part of town.”

• Location was excellent; room is nice and large.
• Construction in hotel; air conditioner did not work well.

“While there was some construction in hotel, appearance and staff were great. Fantastic location, right across from Amsterdam Central train station (for excursions) and very short walk to Dam Square (Palace, largest retail store) and reasonably short walk to Anne Frank's House and museum quarter.”

• It should not have been rated as a 4 stars hotel... but a 2 stars.

“I stayed at the "Garden Wing" part of the hotel. The bathroom was not very clean. The bath tub has some kind of stains on it. The color of the carpeting makes the room looked very dusty. The edges of all the furniture in the room are wore off. The magazine has some kind of unknown oil stains of the cover. It was just awful I was very disappointed for I had picked to stay in a 4 stars hotel and I ended up staying in a crapy place like this.”
