“Hotel looks impressive from outside. Inside, rooms have a standard look but are spacious. Coffee/Tea maker with good selection in room. Rooms to backyard are exposed to ventilator noise (if charming old windows are opened); rooms to the street, however, probably have street noise (not confirmed). Overall, we had a very pleasant stay.”

“The Omni Downtown Austin is in a great location in central Austin, within walking distance to many attractions. The UT-Austin campus, with it¿s newly opened Blanton Art Museum among many other museums and collections are nearby. The hotel is in a modern, well-kept building that shares the same space with Class A office space. The hotel has all the amenities one would expect from a 3.5-4 star hotel and the staff is very friendly. However, the rooms really need to be updated to current standards. While certainly clean and comfortable, they feel "dated" with 80's style tiles and fixtures in the bathroom and older-looking carpets and furniture. With all the new hotels coming online in Austin, this hotel really should look into renovating its rooms to keep up. All in all, I had a pleasant experience and would certainly stay here again .” 0 of 1 people found this review helpful.

“This is a great hotel, very classic, beautiful lobby. It is maintained very well. The rooms are large for European standards and the bathrooms are very modern. If you're going to the British museum the location couldn't be better. It is literally right next to a tube station so it's easy to get around.”

“I had such a horrible experience here and NEVER want to stay there again. I spent almost a half hour arguing with the desk personnel.”

“This is everything a high quality four star hotel should be. Fantastic access to the Underground. I will recommend to all my associates.”

“Beautiful hotel with a very helpful staff. Great location to bus and tube service. There are many restaurants, markets and cafes within walking distance to hotel. Rooms were clean, air conditioned and we had daily maid service. I would definitely recommend this hotel to everyone.”

“This hotel had great ambiance starting from the main lobby with a grand staircase to the decor of the small but functional room. The location was convenient to all of London's attractions and bus and tube service was close by. Restaurants and food stores, such as Tesco and Sainsbury were a short walk away. The room came with a small fridge, kettle and an assortment of teas and coffee which was appreciated. Were offered the English breakfast special 2 for 1 deal at L20 at check in which we refused as there were more reasonable offers outside of the hotel. ”

“The Hotel Russell is hard to beat for location, comfort, ease of access, and even -- if you're into that sort of thing -- historical associations. After a recent refurbishment, everything still looks and feels new and functions well. While our room was small as European hotel rooms often are, it had everything we needed. The shower was excellent, there was a heated towel rack, the bed was comfortable, the lighting was quite good, and the air conditioning was plenty cold. It was a most pleasant place to stay.”

“I called the hotel on the morning of check-in to confirm the reservation. There was no info in the room about Hotel Services and contact numbers, nor London sightseeing information. I believe this to be standard in All hotels of this category. Anytime we called reception it literally rang 20+ times before someone picked up. We asked to change rooms twice and the second time they said they would call us back and never did. I think that renovated rooms should likely be very nice. Our was outdated with curtains that hadn't been cleaned in years.”

“ An old hotel that's been completely refurbished inside. Average-to-large London-sized rooms, good location.”

“Recently refurbished, Hotel Russell dominates Russell Square. In Bloomsbury and 2 minutes from a tube station, the location is perfect for the British Museum, access to the West End, or for the main line railway stations of Kings Cross, Euston, and St Pancreas. Rooms are comfortable, clean, and in keeping with the style of the hotel building.”

“Hotel Russell is in an excellent location one block away from the British Museum, and a short walk away from Leichester Square, the theatre district, and many of central London's other attractions. The rooms themselves are very spacious. The bathrooms include a full-size bathtub, which was lovely for soaking in after a long day walking through central London. I found the mattress to be rather hard, but that's more of a personal preference than anything else.” 2 of 2 people found this review helpful.

“Russell hotel was a great place to stay. Close to the tube, bus stop, grocery store and post office, as well as several places to eat within walking distance. Hotel itself was awesome, 4 stars may not do it justice. Staff friendly and helpful!.” 3 of 3 people found this review helpful.
