“The rooms could have been cleaner. The hotel needed to be renovated, but as a 3 star hotel it was what I expected.”

• Very comfortable bed.
• Carpets look dirty, room badly needs maintenance.

“This was my second stay at the Normandie, and I was disappointed in the disrepair of the room. The carpets both inside the room, and in the hallways need replacing. It is not a 3 star level hotel anymore.”

• The room had a wonderful bed and a separate office area.
• The bathroom could be a little spruced up.

“For the most part, this is a great hotel. The pool is huge and we thought, very nice. The bed is very comfortable and the room was good-sized. We did not use the restaurant or bar but they both looked nice. The check-in, check-out was swift and they were very pleasant. The doormen were especially helpful. If you would like to spend less on cabs, ask the doorman about the bus service. You need to walk one or two blocks to a bus stop but for $0.50 per person you can get to Old San Juan very easily. Would consider another stay but would probably stay at another hotel if I will be staying for a week. Would probably go to a resort destination. It has some spectacular architectural features that deserve your attention.”

• The beach was the most beautiful one in the world.
• Location is ok, but not the best.

“The hotel was beautiful and the beach was one of the most beautiful beaches in Puerto Rico. Location is ok but not the best, the area is to quiet to walk at night. There was no security in the swimming pool area and either a lifesaver. Other than that we all enjoy our staying in the hotel and had a great vacation time. Thanks.”

• Poor beach, meals outrageous, windows filthy.

“Nice and quiet, poor beach area/access, had good view of ocean, but unable to see it due to windows being so filthy. Main restaurant never opened, and charged $12.00 for a poor continental breakfast.”

• Clean - affordable for a family.
• Not much going on at night.

“Hotel was clean and comfortable. It is in a good location. We visited Old San Juan and the casino down the street. We did an excursion in Farado that was an hour away and easy to drive to. Overall, the hotel met our expectations.”

• Access to the beach, taxis, and bus stops.
• Limited meals in vicinity and lack of kid-friendly services.

“Friendly-enough staff, but this is definitely a business oriented hotel. The room was a bit cramped and the furnishings were adequate, but there were signs of use and failure to maintain such areas as broken tiles in bathroom; cracked outlets, failure to complete painting over the primer in the bathroom, and mismatched pillows.”

• Excellent Mojitos.
• Bathroom, Toilet, leaking needed to be serviced x2.

“Boutique hotel. Poor, dirty Beach access, Solitary, pool, Dirty, small beach area. Staff occasionally attentive, Nice art deco decor. Good clean bed, AC weak, room cleans. Poor options for internet access.”

• The bellboy always opened the door for me each and every time I came in, even when I had no carry-on or luggage.
• The internet service; I could not access my hotmail account.

“Breathtaking ocean view and close to a convenience store and two restaurants. The bellboys were so welcoming and so ready to assist with anything you asked of them. The staff was quick to send someone to my room when I told them my blinds would not come down. They sent someone in within minutes. Definitely a pleasant experience.”

• I liked the location and its pretty architectural design.
• Stained carpets, not clean enough for an American.

“The location is good, close to the beach, and in the center of Condado. The carpets ruin the otherwise attractive ambience. The food was mediocre and overpriced.”

• Location was excellent.
• Public beach area outside the hotel was not clean, contrasted with nearby hotel.

“The Normandy Hotel is very well in the San Juan area. Accommodations area comfortable and the food selection is appropriate. They could do a better job in the pool area. Also, the nearby public beach needs to be cleaned.”

“Sheraton Hotel in old san Juan is in a beautiful location. Very Clean and accommodating. A pool and and Jacuzzi on top floor with view. Casino available with free drinks. Great place to stay.”

• The pool was really nice.
• We were on the first floor and it was noisy.

“For the price, this hotel was fine. Art deco style, but the room was big with a flat screen TV and CD player. The hotel has some age spots in different places. The pool was quiet and nice and very clean.”

• A little shabby. Mold in bathroom, cracked vanity.

“It's an attractive small hotel but does not have a good beach area or any patio sitting area. Rooms are large and beds are comfortable. Easy access to Old San Juan. I would not rate it a 3 star but it's adequate.”
