• It was clean and the staff was very friendly.
• There is no TV and no form of entertainment.

“I stayed at white sands on mar 5, 2008 through mar 12, 2008 and I was really disappointed when I walked in the room. The picture that is displayed on their website is nothing like what you really see. I think the only thing that was real about white sands was the beach. There is not form of entertainment and the rooms do not carry television. If you do not feel like going out make sure you have your own entertainment like a portable DVD or CD player you will be bored out of your mind because there is absolutely nothing to do or watch. The staff was very friendly. Suffice it to say this will be my last stay at that resort.”

“Two friends and I stayed in a 1 bed room apartment at White Sands for 10 days in January 2008. This was not our first time in Negril. One of us had been traveling to Negril for about 20 years, one of us lives in Jamaica, and I have been traveling to Negril exclusively for 9 years. That being said and considering that none of us are really too fussy about accommodations, all three of us were left with a bad opinion of White Sands. The only saving grace was the location of the hotel on the beach. The house keeper was rude and not very concerned that we thought so. Despite being tipped and gifted each day we had to continue to ask for clean sheets and enough towels for all of us. Our toilet overflowed a couple of times and we actually found a plunger under the bathroom sink. That tells me that this is not an isolated incident. The grounds of the hotel were not well kept-we found the same broken beer bottle in the yard for the entire 10 days we were there. There was debris swept from the rooms that was left to lie on the common side walk. The security guards who doubled as beach staff didn't seem too interested in security, but they did find time to hassle our Jamaican guest, who was a paying guest. The management of the hotel was really on top of answering all of our questions and concerns before we arrived, and from then on it seemed as if he was on vacation. Had he taken a walk across the street to see the condition of the property and monitor his workers a bit perhaps this review would be a little less critical. This property is not up to the standards that many of its neighboring properties on the beach keep. I can not speak to the bar and restaurant as I did all of my eating off site. One member of our party did have lunch and drinks at the hotel bar on various occasions and was pleased with the service and quality of drinks and food. It is our opinion that we could have spent the same amount of money and stayed in a much better kept, friendlier hotel, and next time we will!”
